When you lose sleep on a regular basis you're experiencing insomnia.
IF YOU HAVE INSOMNIA IT'S TIME TO START ASKING QUESTIONS and figure out how you can get a full night of sleep.
Aside from just feeling frustrated and tired, insomnia can lead to a whole host of health issues or make your current health issues worse.
There are 3 BASIC TYPES of insomnia: trouble falling asleep, trouble staying asleep, waking too early, or any combination of the three.
THERE IS A LOT YOU CAN DO to stop the vicious cycle. Here are a few things you can do to stop it. It takes a little self-discipline but it's worth it.
JUST CHOOSE 3-4 OF THESE ACTIONS that apply best to your situation:
Go to sleep at 10 at the latest (lights out and eyes closed.
Expose your eyes to UV light outside as soon as possible after you wake up.
Stop eating at 7pm. Yes, that includes dessert!
Get at least 20 minutes of exercise daily.
Meditate for 10+ minutes before going to bed.
Keep coffee and tea down to one cup per day. None in the afternoon.
If you consume alcohol of any type be done with it by 7pm.
25-50 deep breaths before you go to sleep.
Stop looking at any screens one hour before bed.
There are many more tactics to get better sleep but choosing the right one for you depends a lot on what's causing it.
WHEN INSOMNIA IS STUBBORN and it isn't responding to basic life changes HORMONAL IMBALANCE is usually the underlying issue.
Yes, you too dudes. You're hormones get out of balance too.
