How Do States Become Abiding Peace?
In meditation, nothing stops moving.
Thoughts arise.
States shift.
Attention wanders.
What changes is the relationship.
Distraction is noticed effortlessly,
and in that same moment, attention returns.
Not through effort—through familiarity.
As this effortless return is cultivated,
a deeper capacity develops:
the ability to abide.
The tradition calls this samadhi—
where meditator, meditation, and the felt sense of peace
are no longer separate.
Peace remains,
even as every wave continues to arise within it.
