We had such a wonderful shopping trip to Five Below in Encinitas this week! Our residents enjoyed browsing the aisles, picking out their favorite goodies, and stocking up on a few essentials. The smiles, conversations, and little treasures found made it a truly special outing for everyone. 💛

This week, our residents enjoyed a special visit from the Agua Hedionda Lagoon Foundation and their amazing animal ambassadors! From a gentle ball python to adorable guinea pigs and more unique critters, our community was filled with excitement, smiles, and lots of curious hands ready to learn and explore.

These meaningful moments of connection bring joy, comfort, and a sense of wonder to our residents — and we are so grateful for partners who help make that happen. 💛

This week at Summerfield of Encinitas Memory Care, we proudly celebrated Veterans Day with a series of heartfelt events honoring the brave men and women who have served our country.

We began with a special outing to Mt. Soledad in La Jolla on Veterans Day, where residents enjoyed breathtaking views, a reflective visit to the historic memorial, and a picnic lunch overlooking the coastline. The peaceful setting offered a perfect moment to honor our veterans and enjoy meaningful conversation.

The following day, we held a Veteran Pinning Ceremony thanks to Mission Healthcare to recognize and thank each of our resident veterans for their service and sacrifice. It was a touching tribute, filled with pride, gratitude, and emotion.

To wrap up the week, we hosted a lively Veteran-to-Veteran Café by Apreva Hospice where stories were shared, bonds were strengthened, and fun trivia brought smiles and laughter. It was inspiring to witness the camaraderie and connection among those who have given so much.

At Summerfield, we are honored to provide a caring home for our veterans, and we cherish every opportunity to celebrate their courage and legacy. 🇺🇸❤️🤍💙

🎃 Fall Fun at Rancho Bernardo Pumpkin Farm!🍁

Our residents had a wonderful time soaking up the sunshine and autumn spirit during our trip to the Rancho Bernardo Pumpkin Farm! From exploring the pumpkin patch and enjoying a festive lunch to sharing laughter and memories with friends, it was a day filled with smiles, fresh air, and fall cheer.

These special outings remind us how meaningful it is to stay connected with nature, community, and one another. 💛

From birdies to sandwiches, we covered all the essentials. 🏌️‍♂️⛳🥪
What started as a quest at Goat Hill in Oceanside for the perfect swing that quickly turned into a comedy of slices, hooks, and mysterious golf balls that vanished into thin air (or the nearest water hazard) we somehow managed to have an absolute blast out on the green.

Naturally, after burning an impressive number of calories laughing at ourselves, we wrapped it all up the classy way—with a good old-fashioned picnic at Oceanside Harbor. The views? 10/10. The vibes? Immaculate. The food? Gone in 60 seconds.

Moral of the story: golfing may not be our profession, but having a good time? Now that’s our championship sport. 🏆🌊🧺

At Summerfield Memory Care of Encinitas, we celebrated National Assisted Living Week — and this year’s theme, "Ageless Adventures”, couldn’t be more fitting! 🎉

To kick off the week, we took our residents on a thrilling outing to the Del Mar Horse Races, where the spirit of adventure was alive and well. From the sound of the starting bell to cheering on their favorite horses, our residents proved that no matter your age, life is still full of excitement, wonder, and new experiences. 💙🐎

This special week was all about celebrating the vibrant lives of our residents and honoring the incredible journeys they’re still on. Whether it’s a day at the races, a walk by the ocean, or sharing stories over coffee — every moment is part of the ageless adventure we’re proud to be a part of.

Today’s luau luncheon at Summerfield of Encinitas was nothing short of magical! Thank you to all residents, families, and friends who brought the aloha spirit to life! Here’s a little glimpse of the day:

What Made the Day Special:

Sumptuous Spread: From tender, savory lechon (pork lechon) to an array of delicious side dishes bursting with tropical flavors, every bite was a taste of paradise.

Bubbles & Cheers: Whether toasting old memories or making new ones, the Tiki bubbles added an extra layer of joy to our celebration.

Live Music Vibes: Iris’s beautiful acoustic performance was the heart of the luau, soft melodies, warm voices, dancing tunes and a soundtrack fit for an island sunset.

A Gathering of Hearts: The laughter, conversations, and shared smiles between residents, families, and staff created a sense of community that fills us with gratitude.

🌊🎢Coastal Breezes and Big Smiles!🎢🌊

Yesterday was one for the memory books! Our wonderful residents at Summerfield of Encinitas Memory Care took a scenic coaster ride along the California coast, and it was pure joy from start to finish. 🚆💙

We enjoyed stunning ocean views, great company, and plenty of laughter along the way. From the rhythmic hum of the train to the salty breeze and sunshine on our faces, it was a beautiful reminder of how simple moments can bring so much happiness. 😊🌴

Thank you to our amazing team who made this special outing possible. We’re already looking forward to our next adventure!

🌊A Gentle Ocean Journey🐢✨
On Monday, our Summerfield residents enjoyed a peaceful outing to the Heikoff Giant Dome Theater at the Fleet Science Center in Balboa Park. We watched the soothing yet captivating documentary, Turtle Odyssey, narrated by Russell Crowe, which follows the remarkable life journey of Bunji, an Australian green sea turtle. We saw her swim from hatchling stage through adulthood, navigating oceans and returning to the beach where she was born.
What our residents loved:
* Watching sea turtles glide serenely through vibrant waters.
* The calm pacing and soft narration felt comforting and immersive.
* Bonding over the simple beauty of nature...many smiles, soft conversations, and shared memories.
We are so glad to have shared this relaxing and enriching experience with everyone!
