Ahhhh, I miss you!
I was feeling nostalgic today, so I put on my shirt so I took myself on a little beach walk/dance party and had a great time remembering all the workouts, b***y shaking and fitness videos! That was a special time in all of our lives and it felt like we were all about to take off on this awesome adventure! But life has other plans and we are on different adventures now. 😎

I’m not a big fan of regrets or playing the “what if” game. I keep my gaze on the path in front of me and aim to make it as good as I can. And that path is leading me toward in-person teaching again! 🙌🏼

I am finalizing the details and will post more about where and when… just know that I am getting really excited and hope that you’ll join me! 🤩 In the meantime, if you see me dancing along Coast Highway or down San Elijo Beach come and boogie with me. It’s been too long 😉

KTQ PSA

How are you feeling today?
Are you feeling empowered?
*How*are you feeling empowered?
Are you nourishing your vessel…
Are you putting goodness into your body… Are you rubbing love into your muscles… Are you connecting to your higher self… Are you connecting to spirit/source/God… Are you feeding your mind with things that turn you on and get you going…
Are you dancing…
listening to music…
painting…
playing…
pleasuring…

My greatest desire for you today is that you are activating all of your senses! That you are luxuriating in soft fabrics. That you are taking in the beauty of nature or art. That you are listening to sounds that lift your spirits. That you are smelling fragrances that enliven or calm you. That you are tasting some thing absolutely delicious!

Take a moment and check in with those basic 5 senses and give em a little treat!
And then try and do that every day. And THEN try and do that all day long!

Feeling blissed and blessed after a delicious birthday weekend ✨

It is with pure joy that I enter into another beautiful year of life & I celebrated my humanness through tickling my senses! Cooking delicious food with beloved friends while listening to curated music and getting in as many hugs and nuzzles along the way. 💖🙌🏼💖 I am overflowing with love and gratitude and am riding this wave as long as I can! 🌊

The ripple effects of love, peace and pure bliss stretch to the ends of the earth (and beyond!). And a massive Thank You to everyone who helped create magic with me this weekend. I am brimming with love & gratitude 🙏🏼

I’ve learned (again!) that part of being fit and active can include injuries 🙄… especially as we mature. I recently felt a “pop” in my hamstrings while in a Half Moon variation. Rather than get bummed out and immediately start worrying about my workout regime, I took this injury and embraced it. I’m embracing the stillness and the slowness that comes with rehabbing a pulled muscle. I’m doing more Pilates and I’m using my vast knowledge of how the body works to pay attention to every single move I make… It feels intentional. It feels intimate. It feels good to move slow & controlled. It feels sensual to get back in touch with my muscles and feel out which ones are tight or sore. I’ve brought a beautiful sensuality to my practice and it feels so good! I want you to feel so good too!

Let’s celebrate the goodness of our bodies! ✨🌸✨

It’s true what they say about being in your 40s… There is a significant shift away from caring what other people think about you.

I’ve been working on my “I don’t give a f@ #%” mindset in regard to a specific beauty aesthetic. The beauty and diet industries rake in over $500 billion a year. 😳 And while I am a consumer of beauty products & I work in health and fitness, I no longer strive to achieve the over-culture’s idea of a perfect body. Now I fuel my machine with healthy food and exercise rather than under-eating and over-exercising.

And it’s taken me a while to get to this place of radical self acceptance. I’ve been (and still am) practicing to love myself, regardless of how I look compared to models/celebrities/friends/etc. And I’m proud of my body - wrinkles and all.

And also rainbows. I love rainbows.

A friend told me about a new fitness challenge & we started today! It’s been quite a while since I’ve participated in a fitness challenge… Many times the rules about food felt too stringent or the exercises too demanding and I often found myself caught up in feelings of failure and unworthiness (vulnerable share!)

This challenge, however, sounds healthy and holistic. It is a milder, more achievable “version” of called

This challenge is 60 days focusing on movement, growth and joy with attainable expectations. The rules are:

🍎Make your own meals: it doesn’t matter what you cook. No foods are off-limits. No diets are involved. Eat colorfully. Use the 60 days to experience the joy of cooking your meals!

🧘🏼‍♀️Move your body for 60 minutes a day. It doesn’t have to be all at once. It doesn’t need to be a work out. Break up the time in a way that works for you. Go for walks, jump rope, and take stretch breaks throughout your day. It all counts. Fit exercise in when you can and prioritize active recovery.

💦 Drink water every day. Ideally take half your body weight and drink that many ounces of water. At the very least, drink water every day.

✍🏼Keep a weekly journal about how you’re feeling. Take time once a week to reflect on all of your hard work. Get creative. Identify any mental, physical, and emotional improvements as you progress. This challenge is about all aspects of wellness.

🌟 Dedicate at least 10 minutes a day to personal development. It can be reading, listening to motivational podcasts, meditating, writing, taking an online course, or starting a new hobby. If it brings you joy and it helps you grow, it counts.

60 days from today is Christmas so this challenge feels like a great way to round out the rest of the year! Wanna join us?!

“Heart Opener”… “Release upper body tension”… counteract “computer posture/driving posture/ texting posture”.

Actually opening up the pectorals and anterior deltoids can make a big difference in how I function day to day. 😍 In addition to self-massage of the area pictured in this first image, I also try and stretch my chest daily. Bridge pose and camel in yoga are two of my faves but I frequently find myself stretching out on our front door! See image #2 and try it yourself: press your front body up against a door/wall. Extend either arm against the door — in line with your shoulder. Press the same cheek (as your extended arm) into the door while you *gently* turn your gaze away from your extended arm. Repeat other side. 🌟

Keep that clavicle open and create more flexibility in your chest/collarbone! 💗🙏🏼💗

GratiTuesday!

I’m making a conscious decision to generate more gratitude in my life and would love for you to join me!

The word gratitude comes from the Latin word gratia, which means grace, graciousness, or gratefulness. Gratitude is a thankful appreciation for what someone receives, whether tangible or intangible. With gratitude, we acknowledge the goodness in our lives and in the process, can realize that the source of that goodness lies at least partially outside of ourselves. As a result, gratitude helps us connect to something larger than ourselves as individuals — whether to other people, nature, or a higher power. 🌿

Gratitude is strongly and consistently associated with greater happiness, helping us feel more positive emotions, relish good experiences, improve health, deal with adversity, and build strong relationships!

I am grateful to have had a luxurious day celebrating seven years of marriage with my husband!

Who Am I?

I am a wife & mother. A fitness expert and enthusiast. A friend and confidant. A spiritual explorer. A strong woman with a secret knowledge… a knowledge of how to LOVE MY BODY. It’s taken me years to get to this place of loving myself & I want to help you get here too. I believe you can truly love yourself when you consistently connect to your body through movement.
