My favorite personal gong- Planetary tuned Pluto. Its Specific fundamental note is based on calculations by Hans Cousto, which translate the orbital period of Pluto into an audible frequency. For example, a 36” Paiste Pluto Gong is tuned to a fundamental of C #2, representing Pluto’s orbital frequency of 70.12 Hz. This gong chose me at a time of deep transformation and helped restore balance between light and dark shifts I was experiencing at the time. I feel a gong truly needs to be felt and experienced by the facilitator. I encourage students I mentor to come play and connect before jumping into adding an a gong to their sound bath offering. They are powerful instruments when used in an intentional capacity.
