1.       Why did I gain weight after surgery?

a.       Your body retains fluid with any surgery, and it usually takes at least 2 weeks for you to get rid of it.

b.       Also, you will have swelling and inflammation that will last for several months.

2.       How soon can I drive after TT?

a.       Most people are able to drive within one week, but

b.       You cannot drive while on narcotics, or unable to maneuver a car

3.       How soon can I exercise?

a.       Most people do gentle walking in 2 weeks.

b.       Light gym within 4 weeks.

c.       No abdominal direct exercesses for 2 months.

4.       How soon can I have s*x?

a.       It depends how vigorous of s*x!

b.       You can have gentle s*x within 3 weeks.

c.       Be careful with your incisions and drains.

Tummy Tuck Recovery Questions and Answers Part One

How long is the pain after TT?

The main soreness and pain take about 3-4 days

Take pain pills, plenty of liquids, and Gabapentin helps.

How soon can I take a shower?

The next day you can take a shower, but NO Bath.

How long do I have to stay bent?

It usually takes about 4 days for your skin to stretch.

You can gradually straighten up after 4 days.

How long do I have to stay in bed?

You don’t need to be bedridden at all.

You can also rest on a couch or an armchair, as well.

In fact, it’s good to walk starting the same day, in order to prevent DVts (blood cloths).

Will I become constipated with surgery?

Yes, for the first few days.

Drink plenty of liquids and take stool softeners.

Don’t strain too much!

How long will I have my drains?

Drains can stay from 2 to 4 weeks depending on the extent of your TT and liposuction, and activity level.

Reduce your activity to a minimum.
