Hi Everyone! Many of you may have been receiving calls about rescheduling your cleaning appointments. We are working hard to find a new dental hygienist to help fill the gap in our schedules, but are trying to be realistic about being able to do it before the first of the year. If your appointment has been rescheduled, please know, we will call you as soon as appointments open up again and will get you back in as quickly as we can. We appreciate every one of you and want you to know that we do believe we will have greater success after the first of the year. If you get called to reschedule, please take whatever appointment is offered, even if it's a few months out ... we will, I promise, get back to you with openings as they come up. Thanks for trusting us to help take care of your oral health!

The snow is heading our way... the office is open tomorrow for Dr. Tom's patients... if you won't be able to make it in, please leave a message so we'll know not to expect you. All hygiene appointments for tomorrow have been rescheduled. Be safe on the roads and enjoy the snowy day! Hi Everyone! THIS IS FOR OUR MEDICARE FOLKS... As we get closer to that magical enrollment period for Medicare, please remember a couple of things. There are a couple of different Medicare Supplement Plans that cover dental, but we are only able to bill for PPO plans.. just lately I've been hearing about EPO plans but still have no definitive answer about whether we can bill them for you. We are not in network with any of the Medicare plans but, as with all other plans (except those below), we will bill your plan for you and then balance bill you once your insurance has paid their share.

The plans we CAN NOT bill and you CAN NOT receive any reimbursement for if you come to our office are the HMO plans.. they tell you what dentist you have to see and we are not on their list. There is one HMO out there that is HMO for medical, but PPO for Dental through Aetna.. that one is okay. We are also unable to bill any of the Medicaid plans. They too have their network of dentists and we aren't part of that.

If you have any questions about the various plans, I can tell you generally what I have seen as the best ones, but a GREAT resource for all things Medicare is the Broome County Office for Aging located in the Medical Arts Building on Main Street in Endicott. They will talk you through all of the options and help you find the best Medicare plan and Supplement Plan for your specific needs. (They saved one of my brothers a whole lot of money on his plan!). You can call them and request an appointment to discuss options.. but I'd call now as they are going to get busier as it gets closer to enrollment time!
