🏆 Member of the Week: Julie Ochse 🏆

A huge congratulations to this week’s PB Member of the Week, Julie Ochse! Julie is the definition of long-term commitment paying off. She shows up early, puts her head down, and challenges herself every single session. Even on the days when energy is low and fatigue is high, she still finds a way to get the work done — and that consistency has pushed her forward in a big way.

Julie recently took on the Stronger Before the Holidays Challenge and came out on top for Most Lean Muscle Gained, while simultaneously dropping her overall body fat in just 4 weeks time. That result is a direct reflection of her focus, discipline, and willingness to stay locked in even on the tougher days.

Beyond her own progress, one of Julie's greatest qualities is how she brings a steady, driven energy into the gym that quietly elevates everyone around her. Her actions set the tone, and her consistency raises the bar day in and day out.

🏆 Member of the Week: Adam Kies 🏆

Adam works hard week in and week out, always showing up early and ready to go. He consistently challenges himself with heavier weights, pushes his limits every workout, and never leaves without a sweat. Oh — and of course, he makes sure the sauna’s heated up for after 😂.

Roughly over a month ago, Adam battled through a low back injury but handled it exactly how you should — by taking the necessary time to rest, recover, and come back the right way. Since then, he’s been right back to doing what he does best: challenging himself every session and leading by example.

Beyond the personal progress and muscle gains he’s made, Adam brings incredible energy to the gym. His dedication and effort naturally inspire those around him to push harder too. He’s living proof that with consistency and discipline, you can balance a busy family and work life while still prioritizing your health — and make some serious strides doing it.

Congratulations, Adam! Keep up the great work — we see you! 🫵😎

Congratulations to our newest Member of the Week Guinevere!

Consistency builds champions and G is proving it every single week.

She’s not only been training hard in the gym, building muscle and strength, but she’s also preparing for a half marathon while crushing miles on the bike. That level of balance and discipline is rare and inspiring to everyone around her.

When she’s not running, lifting, or biking, she’s pouring that same dedication into her bee hive business. 🐝 The hustle is real and if you’re looking for the best honey around, she’s the one to go to.

📈 2025 has been a year of growth for Philosophically Built.
This year wasn’t just about adding new rooms or systems — it’s been about laying a strong foundation for the future of PB.

✅ Our new Elite Hybrid Room opened, giving our athletes even more opportunities to train at the highest level.

✅ We launched the Recovery Lab, complete with contrast therapy, to help our community push harder and recover smarter.

✅ We invested in new systems to improve the client experience, so every member feels supported from day one.

✅ We’re training new coaches to carry the mission forward and take on the growing workload.

✅ I’ve personally invested into new coaching for myself and the PB leadership team to sharpen our vision and ex*****on.

✅ And early next year, we’ll be in Las Vegas for a coaching conference — learning from the best so we can bring even more value home to PB.

Building something new requires two things:

➡️ Being present in the moment, pouring into the work right in front of you.

➡️ And keeping one eye on the future, trusting that the foundation you’re building will one day unfold into something greater.

I couldn’t have taken nearly a full year to push forward without the people standing next to me in this picture. This team has carried the vision, the mission, and the workload with me every step of the way.

🙏 Thank you to each of you — and thank you to the PB community who continues to believe in what we’re building. The best is still ahead.

CONGRATULATIONS Barb for being our Member of the Week!!

This is what it looks like when someone decides to show up and put in the work. You started back from scratch, rebuilt step by step. Now you’re not just back, you’re stronger, more balanced, and more capable than ever. That kind of progress doesn’t happen by accident. It’s proof of your consistency, grit, and refusal to quit. You’ve been crushing it, and it shows in every movement, every rep, every day you walk in.

But beyond the strength and freedom from pain, what matters most is you. The effort you’ve poured into yourself is changing your life, and I couldn’t be more proud to see you step into this version of yourself. Keep going Barb! You’ve already proven you’re unstoppable!!!

Our Story

The owner and head coach at Philosophically Built, Blake Hickey is a Personal Trainer in Binghamton NY. He is an ONNIT Academy certified trainer, ONNIT Steel Mace Specialist, ONNIT Kettle Bell Specialist, ONNIT Durability Specialist as well as an E-RYT 200 hour yoga instructor. Philosophically Built is a functional fitness academy focused on building strength, flexibility and range of movement through integrity in movement. You will learn how to hold your body in the proper structure while performing a wide range of moevements. At Philosophically Built we use tools such as kettle bells, steel maces, steel clubs, battle ropes and sand bags. We also do many body weight training exercises which focus on range of motion resulting in increased mobility. The client that can benefit from these workouts range from anyone wanting to get in shape but is unfamiliar with where to begin to the athlete who wants to focus on specific aspects of their fitness to perfect their athleticism in their sport.
