For many women and girls, painful periods and ongoing pelvic pain get brushed off as “normal.” But for some, it’s something more - like endometriosis, a condition that can take years to be recognized and understood.

Dr. Abby Barnes, a OB/GYN with HCA HealthONE, talks about the importance of this diagnosis: https://cbsn.ws/4c70myQ

Today we recognized the first day of Donate Life Month at HCA HealthONE Swedish by raising the Donate Life Month flag in partnership with Donor Alliance.

As home to HCA HealthONE's solid organ transplant program, we see the impact of donation in deeply meaningful ways. Our kidney transplant program began in 1985, and our liver transplant program was added in 2015. Together, these programs have helped save more than 2,000 lives. That work is made possible by our incredible transplant team and the strong partnerships we share across our community. We are grateful to work closely with organizations like Donor Alliance and the Rocky Mountain Lions Eye Bank, whose collaboration helps make this lifesaving care possible.

We’re grateful for the partners, families and advocates who help make healing and hope possible for so many in our community.

At 20 years old, Sydney was studying abroad when severe headaches, shortness of breath and extreme fatigue began disrupting her life. After returning home and becoming too weak to stand, she was sent to the ER for a blood transfusion — where she was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL).

Alone in Colorado while her family was in Illinois, Sydney was admitted to HCA HealthONE Rocky Mountain Children’s. Though scared and unsure of what to expect, she quickly found comfort in the compassionate care of our pediatric oncology team, who guided her through every step with clarity and kindness.

After a month-long initial hospital stay and two years of treatment, Sydney celebrated ringing the bell 🔔 on February 26, marking the end of her treatment journey.

Today, Sydney is working hard to regain her strength despite nerve damage caused by treatment. She is finishing school to become a dietitian and is also working toward earning her personal training certification. Inspired by her own journey, she hopes to help others prioritize their health and wellness.

Colleagues from HCA HealthONE, including transplant surgeon Dr. Matthew Winn, joined Donor Alliance for a Transplant Games of America 2026 flag-signing kickoff — adding our names and messages of support to the flag that will be displayed during the Games.

We’re proud to sponsor the 2026 Transplant Games of America in Denver (June 18–23, 2026) and help welcome the Games to Denver for the first time.

The Transplant Games celebrate strength, honor donors, and build awareness of what organ donation can mean for patients and families.

At HCA HealthONE, our transplant teams bring longstanding experience and specialized expertise to each step of care — from evaluation and surgery through recovery and long-term follow-up. Our solid organ transplant program began in 1985, and we’ve performed close to 2,000 kidney transplants. Our liver transplant program was established in 2016 and performed 38 transplants in 2025 alone. We’re also home to the largest bone marrow transplant program in the Rocky Mountain region.

During the Games, stop by the HCA HealthONE tent in the Main Village to meet our team and learn more about transplant services and care resources available in our community.

the American Cancer Society reports that colorectal cancer is increasing by 2% each year in people ages 50-54 and in those younger than 50? The good news is that simple steps can help lower your risk. We're sharing five ways to start protecting your health today.

We’re proud to be part of our broader HCA Healthcare system of care, where caregivers at Sarah Cannon Cancer Network treat more than 130,000 cancer patients each year. That expertise means if screening ever leads to a diagnosis, you’ll have access to coordinated care and guidance from trusted cancer specialists.

If you have questions about colon cancer screening or symptoms, schedule an appointment with a primary care doctor: https://bit.ly/4lPH0Tw
