It’s not you. It’s your brain. 🧠
Your amygdala is doing exactly what it was designed to do: keep you safe. The problem is it doesn’t know time or context. Past stress, future worry, even other people’s emotions can flip the alarm on. 🚨 That’s why your body can feel on edge even when life looks calm.
When your brain senses safety, everything shifts. The nervous system softens. The amygdala stops overworking. Safety in the body tells the brain, I don’t have to stay on high alert.
Havening is one way to HUG it Out with your nervous system and make amends with your mind. It’s neuroscience-based, gentle, and can be self-applied to build resilience or used with a certified practitioner to help de-encode stored stress and trauma.
If you’re a clinician, coach, educator, or first responder, this belongs in your toolkit.
