❤️ Love Never Takes a Day Off ❤️ While many people spent Valentine’s Day at restaurants and exchanging cards, our St. Mary’s team spent the day exactly where their hearts truly are — caring for patients. Holidays don’t stop illness, injuries, or babies from arriving, and because of that, neither do our caregivers. Behind every call light answered, every reassuring smile, every hand held and every late-night chart completed… is someone missing time with their own families so they can care for us.

We are incredibly grateful for the compassion, dedication and kindness shown by our staff each and every day, especially on holidays. If you see a St. Mary’s caregiver, please join us in saying thank you. They truly are the heart of our hospital.

Feb. 8–14 is Cardiac Rehab Week. St. Mary’s celebrated with our patients by hosting fun activities throughout the week. Activities included sampling heart‑healthy snack recipes and learning key heart‑health facts to help keep our patients informed and well.

Cardiac rehabilitation programs help patients recover from heart attacks, surgeries and other cardiac events. These medically supervised programs combine exercise, education and lifestyle counseling with the goal of reducing future hospitalizations and lowering the risk of another cardiac event. Our cardiac rehab team at St. Mary’s is dedicated to helping patients regain their strength, confidence and independence.

Earlier this month, Our Blood Institute declared an emergency blood shortage as inventories reached critically low levels. Thanks to generous donors who stepped up, the supply briefly stabilized — but the prolonged winter weather has quickly erased that progress.

All blood types are now needed, with an urgent need for platelet donors and O-negative donors. Donation appointments remain available at Our Blood Institute donor centers for those who can safely travel.

❤️ Thank You Gift:
To show appreciation during these challenging conditions, all donors who give Wednesday through Friday will receive a blood donor sweatshirt (while supplies last).

Appointments to donate can be made online at obi.org or by calling 877-340-8777. Walk-ins are also welcome.

Your donation saves lives — especially now.
Please donate as soon as it’s safe to do so. 🩸💙
