We’re continuing to celebrate National Volunteer Appreciation Week and the incredible individuals who give their time to support our patients, caregivers and community! 💚 Throughout the week, we’ve been honoring our volunteers with special treats and surprises as a small thank you for the big difference they make every day.

Today, we’re proud to highlight our emergency department volunteers—Peggy, Jorge, Kelly, Addy and Paisley. Their friendly presence and willingness to help play a key role in enhancing the patient and caregiver experience. From delivering blankets and providing wait-time updates to assisting with cleaning and stocking supplies, they help keep the ER running smoothly and allow our care teams to stay focused on patients.

Thank you to each of you for your compassion, dedication and the comfort you bring to everyone who walks through our doors. We are so grateful for all you do! 💚

About 3,700 babies in the U.S. die each year from sleep-related causes, including SIDS and accidental suffocation, according to the CDC.

The good news is many of these tragedies are preventable.

Follow safe sleep basics every time:

✨ Use a firm, flat sleep surface
✨ Keep the crib empty (no blankets, pillows or toys)
✨ Share a room, not a bed

It’s National Volunteer Appreciation Week, and we’re kicking things off by celebrating the incredible individuals who give their time and talents to support our patients, caregivers and community! 💚

Throughout the week, we’ll be showing our appreciation with special treats and surprises—and highlighting the many areas where our volunteers make a difference.

First up: Dietary Services! 🍽️ Pictured are Gloria and Carolyn, who play an important role in supporting patient care and daily operations. Our food service volunteers help ensure patient floors are stocked with needed supplies, assist with food prep and café support, and help keep the kitchen running efficiently. Their attention to detail and willingness to serve help create a better experience for both patients and caregivers.

We honor the 168 lives lost and stand in remembrance of all who endured unimaginable loss and hardship. Their memory continues to shape our community and strengthen our shared commitment to one another.

Join us in celebrating our April Caregiver Spotlight, Terrah Semrad, RN, who is marking five years with INTEGRIS Health! Terrah chose a career in health care to make a direct impact on people’s lives, and she does just that every day by supporting moms and families during some of life’s most meaningful moments.

As a member of our labor and delivery team, Terrah says what inspires her most is being part of such special, life-changing experiences. She also values the strong teamwork among her coworkers, sharing that it’s what makes coming to work each day so enjoyable. What she loves most about her role is being there for families during the incredibly special and vulnerable moments of welcoming a new life into the world.

Terrah has achieved many professional milestones that she is proud of, including receiving the Rising Star Award, Nightshift Nurse of the Year, being named a Top Five Women’s Health Nurse of the Year through the March of Dimes, and earning her first DAISY Award. She also recently obtained her national certification in fetal monitoring—a testament to her dedication to excellence in patient care.

Outside of work, Terrah enjoys spending time with her husband and two kids, cheering them on at their sports activities and diving into her favorite “granny hobbies” like needlepoint, embroidery and diamond painting.
