🎉Victory Celebrates 20 Years🎉
✨(Former, and hopefully future) Staff Spotlight: Alyssa Rendon Gasca✨
❤️We asked our former tech (x3) to answer a few questions for a spotlight piece. Instead she wrote this testimonial that may have drawn a tear or two:
Hi! My name is Alyssa Rendon Gasca, I first came to know Victory Physical Therapy in 2017 during my health science rotation at Ennis High School. It was there that my love for physical therapy first began. Watching Brandi and Kristi work with their patients, I saw far more than treatment—I saw compassion, purpose, and a genuine calling to restore lives physically, mentally, and spiritually.
That experience taught me that physical therapy is not simply about helping someone recover from an injury. It is about walking alongside people through seasons of vulnerability, confusion, anxiety, frustration, and sadness. Through every challenge their patients faced, I witnessed the care, patience, and kindness Brandi and Kristi gave so freely. After only a few weeks, I knew with certainty that this was what I wanted to dedicate my life to. I wanted to become a therapist who could bring healing, encouragement, joy, and hope to others during some of the most difficult seasons of their lives.
Later that same year, I had the opportunity to become a physical therapy technician for Victory, and since then I have worked there on and off while continuing my education at University of North Texas, where I earned my bachelor’s degree in rehabilitation studies. I am now completing my third semester in the Physical Therapist Assistant program at Navarro College.
Over the years, I have also had the privilege of learning from Sherri and Cara, two incredible therapists whose example has impacted me deeply. Through Sherri, I saw the peace and calmness patients need during rehabilitation. Through Cara, I saw the joy, positivity, and energy that can brighten even the hardest therapy sessions. These are qualities I hope to carry with me throughout my own career as a PTA.
I also cannot forget Grace and Carol, the amazing office staff who are often the very first faces and voices patients encounter. They greet everyone with compassion, patience, kindness, and empathy. They listen to each patient’s story and make people feel cared for from the moment they walk through the door. Their role is invaluable, and the warmth they bring to the clinic is something truly special.
These women have become so much more than coworkers or mentors—they are family to me. I love and care for them deeply. They have encouraged me, poured wisdom into me, spoken life into me, and helped shape both the person and future clinician I am becoming. I thank God for placing them in my life, and I will always be grateful for each of them. I love y’all 💕
