Mrs. Angeline Godwin Schomp of Chancellor, Alabama, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, December 14, 2025. She passed away at home surrounded by her loving family. She was 88 years old.

Angeline "Angie" was born in Coffee County, Alabama, on March 20, 1937, to the late Carl "Jack" and Mary Ruth Godwin. She grew up on a cotton and peanut farm, where hard work was instilled in her at an early age. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, Donald Ditmar Schomp, and brother, Harold Godwin.

A true spring baby, her life mirrored the season. She loved flowers and had a deep appreciation for nature. She was energetic and full of life, her vibrant personality was beautifully captured by her favorite color yellow. She was an Accredited Master Flower Show Judge and a long-standing member of the Daffodil Garden Club. She enjoyed working in her yard, and spent time fishing, sewing and quilting.

Angie loved playing the piano and, with strong determination, taught herself to play at a young age. She was an active member of First United and Sardis Methodist Church, playing the piano, teaching Sunday school and organizing church events.

She had incredible strength and was known for her bold, sociable, and confident personality. She had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh, and was always ready to share the latest news. She loved cooking and sharing recipes. She was a true giver and poured her heart into caring for others.

She was a supportive military wife, making a home in many different places, and greatly enjoyed her time living in Taiwan. In later years she worked part-time for the United States Postal Service as Postmaster Relief (PMR) until retirement.

She was a faithful wife, loving mother, and very proud grandma and great-grandma. She is survived by her daughter, Stasia Ann Schwartz (Dan) of Summerville, SC; son, Stephan Hale Schomp (Joy) of Chancellor, AL; one brother, James Arthur Godwin (Betty); sister-in-law, Jerlon Godwin; three grandchildren, Mckenna Edwards, Evan Schwartz, and Jack Schwartz; three great-grandchildren; and nieces and a nephew.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 22, 2025, at 10:00 AM in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory in Enterprise with Reverend Johnny Belcher officiating. Burial will follow at Sardis Methodist Church Cemetery in Chancellor with Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory of Enterprise directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home beginning at 9:30 AM and continue until service time.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to SouthernCare Hospice for all their support and care.

Mr. Billy L. Caylor of New Brockton, Alabama, passed away Saturday, December 6, 2025. He was 92 years old.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 12, 2025, at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory in Enterprise with Reverend Kerry Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow at the New Brockton City Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory of Enterprise directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home beginning at 1:00 PM and continuing until service time.

Billy was born in Elba, Alabama, on May 11, 1933, to the late John and Clyde Caylor. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Lurline Caylor; brothers, Ray Caylor (Monnette), William Guy Caylor (Margalene), and Pat Caylor (Doris); and sister, Elvie Coursey. He is survived by his sister-in-law, Jeanine Caylor, and several nieces and nephews.

Billy spent the majority of his life in Haines City, Florida, with his wife, Lurline. His life was marked by hard work, and he spent over 40 years working in the citrus industry as a shipping clerk. He retired and lived the remainder of his life in his hometown of New Brockton where he enjoyed fishing and being outdoors. Although he and Lurline had no children of their own, there were many children including nieces and nephews who looked at them as second parents because of the time spent and love poured out to them. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church of Enterprise.

Flowers will be accepted or donations can be made to the New Brockton City Cemetery in his honor.

Mrs. Kathy Carter of Enterprise, Alabama, passed away Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at her residence surrounded by her family. She was 75.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Calvary Baptist Church of Enterprise with Reverend Kerry Mitchell officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM.

Kathy was born December 7, 1949, in Riverside, California to the late John and Valentine Moore. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her brother, Johnny Moore (Elizabeth); brother-in-law, Ralph Woodworth; and son-in-law, Craig Bostrom.

Kathy was a kind and compassionate lady who loved the Lord with all her heart. She served as secretary of her church, Calvary Temple Assembly of God in Riverside, California, for over 35 years. She poured her life into others as she led many women’s Bible studies as well as leading the senior adult ministry at Calvary Temple. Her love for the Lord has impacted many, many people, especially the family she leaves behind.

Survivors include her husband of 42 years, Richard Carter; four daughters, Shelly Carter and Julie Bostrom of California, and Teresa Young (Bob) and Monica Montoya of Enterprise; sister, Barbara Woodworth; six grandchildren, Lani Carter, Andrew Bostrom (Bianca), Allyson Laurence (Chase), Scott McClure (Anna), Amanda Young, and Matthew Young; and five great-grandchildren.

Wanda Kay Rasnic, lovingly known as “Granny,” passed away on November 29, 2025. Born on December 15, 1949, in Winfield, Alabama, she later made her home in Level Plains, where she built a life filled with love, family, and traditions that will be cherished forever.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at Meadowlawn Cemetery in Enterprise with Reverend Shawn Crosby officiating and Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory directing. A visitation will be at Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory on Tuesday prior to the graveside service beginning at 10:00 AM.

Granny was known for her warm heart, her love of Alabama football, and her gift for cooking meals that gathered everyone around the table. Family was the center of her world, and she poured endless love into each generation.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Larry Joe Rasnic; her daughter, Cindy Gatlin; her parents, Redus and Willie Perry; and her sister, Bettye Robison.

She is survived by her sons, Stacy Rasnic (Tracey) and Michael Rasnic; grandchildren Hayley (Brodie), Kelli (Austin), Micheal, Cody, Keri (Sean), Eric, Madisen, and LJ; her sisters, Ann Dodd, Diane Waddell, Doris Sipper; Steve Perry (Holly); and many beloved nieces, nephews, and great-grandchildren who will always remember her kindness, her stories, and her famous phrase, “honestly and truly.”

Granny’s love and spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Lori, born on October 21, 1970, in Alabama, was a kind, tenderhearted lady who was always generous to others. In her free time she enjoyed reading, the beach, and video games, as well as an animal lover. Her family knows she loved them unconditionally, and that legacy of love will continue to her children and grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her brother, Aaron Seay. Survivors include her children, Randal Gradle of Enterprise, Jamie Kitzmiller, of Panama City, and Jessica Gradle-Barefield (Troy) of Ault, Colorado; parents, JoAnn Seay (Don), and Roger Calhoun; sister, Renae Anderson (Steve) of Warner Robins, Georgia; three grandchildren, Lily, Aubrey, and Nikko Barefield; nephew, Avery Anderson (Jessica); and niece, Madison Canter (Chris).

Mr. Jimmy Ray Roebuck of Enterprise, Alabama, passed away Sunday, November 23, 2025. He was 86.

Jimmy Ray was born May 27, 1939, to the late Lafayette and Hattie Roebuck. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Jean Roebuck; grandson, Justin Roebuck; and twelve brothers and sisters.

He was a founding member of Heritage Church in Enterprise where he served the Lord faithfully for many years. Jimmy Ray loved fishing and spending time at the beach, as well eating a variety of different foods. A true patriot, Jimmy Ray proudly served his country first in the US Army before retiring from the US Air Force.

Survivors include his children, Vicky Bess of Toney, Alabama, Veronica Rodgers (Bill) of New Market, Alabama, and Gary Roebuck (Donna) of Enterprise; sister-in-laws, Alice Phillips (Jimmy) and Mary Holt, both of Troy; brother-in-law, Jerry Dunn (Cathy) of Cedar Bluff, Alabama; five grandchildren, Joshua Bess, Brandon Bess (Amber), Sierra Rodgers Farris (Brady), Alexander “Ali” Anderbery (Jessie), and Macy Roebuck; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Mrs. Marie P. Singleton of Enterprise, Alabama, passed away Friday, November 21, 2025. She was 94 years old.

Burial will follow at Old Center Methodist Church Cemetery, 764 County Road 89 Newville, Alabama, with Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory of Enterprise directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home beginning at 9:00 AM and continuing until service time.

Mrs. Singleton was born in Perry County, Alabama, on October 23, 1931, to the late Henry and Mary Swindle Plummer. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, C.T. Singleton; sisters, Virginia Poe (Sam), Mamie Nichols, Polly Taylor (Gene), and Katie Ross; and brothers, Earnest Plummer (Tony Bell) and William Plummer.

Marie’s life exemplified serving others. For years she served her church, St. Luke Methodist, as a Kitchen Angel, as well as volunteering at her children’s school any chance she got. She also lovingly served her family, cooking delicious meals and keeping a meticulous house. Over her life she worked various jobs including as a tax assessor, a Hallmark Representative at Fort Rucker, and at Miller Plumbing & Electric. More than anything she loved her family and her husband of almost 74 years, C.T., the love of her life.

Survivors include her son, Randy Singleton (Nancy) of Enterprise; daughter, Pam Harrell (Ned) of Dora, Alabama; four grandchildren, Holly Koster (Sacha), Hope Moseley (Nicholas), Josh Flowers, and Drew Singleton; six great-grandchildren, Lyra Koster, Evie Koster, Declan Koster, C**t Moseley, Jackson Flowers, and Walter Flowers; sister, Minnie Boyce (Tom); numerous nieces and nephews; and her dearest friend, Teresa Boykin, whom she loved as a daughter and shared many happy times together.

Mr. Richard “Ricky” D. Waldrop, Sr. passed away Wednesday, November 19, 2025, in Dothan, Alabama. He was 67.

Memorialization will be by cremation with a private Celebration of Life service to be held at a later date.

Ricky was born November 15, 1958, in Florida to the late Mac and Ruby Ford Waldrop. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Diane Waldrop; son, Richard Waldrop, Jr.; brothers, Doug, Wayne, and Ralph Waldrop; and sisters, Carolyn Wilson and Maxine Cook.

To know Ricky was to love him, as his love, laughter, and joy spread to all who knew him. Ricky never met a stranger, and he brought great joy to many children over the years playing Santa with his authentic white beard and suspenders. Ricky retired after working 30 years as a supervisor with the City of Ocoee, Florida. An avid sports fan, he loved cheering on his beloved Florida Gators and Atlanta Braves.

Survivors include his daughter, Cynthia Justice (Ricky) of Midland City; stepdaughter, Anna Gustavson (Steve); brothers, Paul Waldrop (Barbara) and Alan Waldrop (Rhonda); five grandchildren, Baley Fowler (Re*****on), Braden Justice (fiancé, Gracie Maupin), Paige Walmer, Dawson Walmer, and Kaiden Watkins; three great-grandchildren; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the nurses and staff on Hall 7 at Extendicare Health and Rehabiliation and Gentiva Hospice for the excellent care given to Ricky.

Ms. Shirley Herrington O’Connor, age 88, passed peacefully from this life on November 17, 2025. She was born on January 19, 1937, in Alabama to the late Thomas and Annie Herrington.

A devoted wife, beloved family member, and faithful Christian, Shirley lived a life marked by kindness, humility, and a quiet strength that blessed all who knew her. She was great at visiting and loved time with friends. She also loved to shop!

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at Goodman Baptist Church, with Pastor Bruce Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Meadowlawn Cemetery in Enterprise, Alabama. Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory will be directing. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Emmett O’Connor; and her siblings, Theodore Herrington, Arrie L. Herrington, John Herrington, Namon Herrington, Harold Herrington, Harry Herrington, Alford Herrington, Frank Herrington, Belle H. Reynolds, Ruby H. Hogan, Tybitha H. Barfield, Alma Herrington, Ester H. Scarnegie, Easter H. Newbie, and Mazie H. Hartford.

Survivors include Margie Herrington, Myrtle Smith, Janie Reynolds, Grace Thompson, Helen Green, Sherlon Weeks, Joyce Reynolds, Jeff Herrington, and Roy Herrington.
