Last weekend at COLA I was able to meet up with Dr Kimberly Schlam and her little ones in Prineville Oregon. I used to work for her in Burien WA. But, she has built herself a beautiful practice in Bend Oregon. They came out to meet all the llama and visit us.

Yesterday I did a thing. I rescued a llama and alpaca that was from a petting zoo that was being auctioned for slaughter. It is always a gamble that they will go to a good home. I usually go to our local livestock auction on Saturday. I usually have eggs and sometimes chickens and rabbits to sell. In the afternoon they auction the large animals like cows, sheep, goats, and swine. I happened to go in the back to see what they were going to be auctioning for the large animals and happened to see llama ears. Asked a friend if they were being auctioned and they said yes they were. I decided to stay and ended up winning the llama in the auction. I didn't originally want the alpaca and told a friend about the alpaca and she had been looking for an alpaca with that coloring. I saw it was a meat buyer that bought him. She asked me to see if he would sell him to me for a little more than what he paid. He agreed. And bam they came home with me.
