As the year winds down, my heart is full of gratitude for every single person who supported my small business this season. Whether you stopped by at a vendor event, shopped through local vendor shops or visited my little porch store to pick up elderberry syrup kits, herbal teas and other wellness goodies - you've helped this little dream grow.

This is perfect for those who either can't or don't want to use essential oils. Not all essential oils are recommended for young children and this salve is good for diaper rash! So I wanted to provide the option for an essential oil free version.

My husband added more string lights to the driveway so friends and family and all of you beautiful people stopping by for some herbal remedies can more easily spot our house. In the daytime you can't see the twinkling lights, but you will still see the set up.

Coffee is a stimulant, so timing to drink coffee often needs to be intentional. However most teas are caffeine free, so anytime can be tea time!!

Pumpkin spice base for coffee drinks

1/2 cup of pumpkin
1/3 cup of maple syrup
2 tsp of pumpkin spice (you can find recipes to mix up your own online)
A splash of vanilla

Whisk all the ingredients together in a saucepan and simmer for 5 minutes; occasionally stirring. Mixture will be thick. Mix 1 TBS of your pumpkin spice mixture into each cup of coffee. Store in the fridge for about a week.

I add this in with my milk and mix it up with an electric frother to make the most delicious pumpkin spice latte.

I also often add a scoop of collagen for added protein as well as bone and joint support

Business Name Origin Story

I created this business after several years of making elderberry syrup for my family every cold/flu season and seeing the difference it made in our own family's health. I always knew the word "remedy" would be included; however, it took me a while to land on the word "humble". Some words downplayed the capabilities of herbal medicine, while others put it on a pedestal. I finally landed on the word "humble" because I thought it encompassed the following truths about my heart behind the company:

*ingredients in our products are simple and uncomplicated
*products are considered home remedies and not pharmaceuticals
*our products are not a promised cure; everybody is unique and may have differing results from our products
*I believe God writes our story; and sometimes sickness is part of it and sometimes we need allopathic medicine as well as herbal medicine

Every product I have created so far has come out of a need from my own household and was tried by my family before being sold to the public. But our lifestyle choices my differ from yours. We take zero medications and have medical conditions, so I do not have to factor that into account when trying ingredients. But natural does not always equal safe for you, so please check for contraindications with your medical history before starting new herbal products. Perhaps the significant reason for the word "Humble" in our name is me. I am not a medical professional. I am a crunchy mom who has found lots of ways to support my family's medical needs by using nature. But I am not at the place to call myself an expert. Passionate, absolutely, but humble in knowing my limitations.

Don't let this post stop you from talking herbs/essentials oils with me at a vendor event or in messages! I love a good crunchy conversation!!
