Meet one of the baker of The Great Cupcake showdown...

Meet Jason!... well, his adorable cat Jasper anyway. Jason is one of our home bakers. Here's what he has to say:
“I’ve loved cooking and baking since I was a kid! Some of my fondest memories are with my grandmother making cookies and cakes in her kitchen. Now, baking relaxes me and helps me get my mind off of life. There are only two of us at home and we can only eat so many sweets, so I don’t get to bake all that often right now. When I heard that I’d have the opportunity to bake 4 dozen cupcakes, I jumped at it!”
What flavors are you bringing to the competition? “Wouldn’t you like to know… and so would I!”
Why did you decide to participate in J:HT’s Mental Health Awareness Month kickoff? “I know so many people who struggle or know someone who struggles with their mental health. In a time where loneliness has been identified as a major health hazard, having non-profit support systems in place like JHT is critical to help meet the needs of these people.”

What’s something small that felt like a win this week?

It counts... even if no one else noticed. We’d love to celebrate it with you.

Meet to one of our bakers for the great cupcake showdown.....

Hi, I’m Jenn—a caregiver by day and a baker at heart. I’m inspired by simple, natural beauty and love turning that into something sweet, comforting, and made from scratch.

Meet The Bakers of The Great Cupcake Showdown!

Meet Brittany Brown ...

Hello, I'm Brittany a mom, a lifelong home baker, and a full‑time manufacturing professional — which basically means I spend my days in a world where nothing smells like sugar and absolutely no one wants me to “just eyeball it.” I’ve been baking since high school, and it’s become both my love language and one of the ways I’ve managed my anxiety over the years. Getting to support a mental‑health organization through something that brings me comfort and joy makes this competition feel especially meaningful.

Progress doesn’t have to be fast to be meaningful. Some days, just continuing is enough. Give yourself permission to move at your own pace. Healing, growth, and change aren’t races... they’re journeys.

What’s one small step you’re taking for yourself today?
