In this season of gratitude, some moments at work stop us in our tracks.

Today we received a beautiful, deeply heartfelt letter from a patient about their surgical journey. I’m sharing it anonymously with their permission, not for recognition, but as a reminder of what a true honor and privilege it is to do what we do.

Behind every procedure is a real person with hopes, fears, and a vision for how they want to move through the world. Being trusted to play even a small role in that transformation is something we never take for granted. These notes mean more to us than any accolades and are a good reminder of why we are in this profession.

To all my patients, thank you for your trust, your courage, and your partnership. It is one of the greatest privileges of my life to help bring positive change to the lives of others.
