Movements from ’s Monday 5:30pm & 6:30pm Lower Body Classes!!
1 - Adding some conditioning to squat day with “Side to Sky Jumps”. Members explode laterally from one foot to the other and then explode vertically. This exercise builds ankle strength and stability, while also recruiting different muscle fibers (Type 2x) for explosive speed and power.
2 - A perfect complement to leg day, Kait’s favorite - “Sit to Stand”. This exercise is as simple as it sounds- but it’s not easy! The goal is to move from a sitting position to a standing position without using your hands. By doing so, you work on hip/knee flexibility and strength, as well as recruiting all muscles in the lower body and the core for balance. This is a great functional exercise to prepare for pregnancy or age-related decline, when getting up on your own may be difficult.
