Today's Friday morning post from CAS is actually a re-post from the National Alliance for Mental Illness (NAMI) of Erie. I hope they don't mind us spreading the words they posted this week!

September is National Su***de Prevention Awareness Month—a time to share resources in an effort to shed light on this highly stigmatized topic. And that’s exactly what our local Erie County Courthouse has done. They have green lights showcasing their building in honor of su***de prevention. Suicidal thoughts, much like mental health conditions, can affect anyone regardless of age, gender or background. In fact, su***de is often the result of an untreated mental health condition. Suicidal thoughts, although common, should not be considered normal and often indicate more serious issues.

If you or anyone you know are having suicidal thoughts, please contact Erie County Crisis Services at (814) 456-2014.
