Our first Family Game Night was such a blast that we didn’t get many pictures. We were having too much fun! 🎉
From laughing through rounds of Charades and Hangman to the excitement of Family Feud, the competition definitely came out in the best way. It was a night full of fun, laughter, and great memories.
We are so thankful for the families and friends who came out to join us. Events like this remind us how special our community truly is! ❤️

We had a wonderful time today with our friend Elizabeth making sweet Easter cards! 💌 The residents enjoyed getting creative and preparing special cards to send to friends and family. It was a fun way to share smiles, kindness, and a little extra cheer with others. 😊

A big thank you to Courtney with Gentiva Hospice for coming out and grilling hotdogs for our amazing staff today. It was such a thoughtful way to show appreciation for the hard work and dedication our team gives every day to care for our residents.
We are so grateful for community partners like Gentiva who take the time to support and encourage our staff. Your kindness truly means so much to us!

We’re kicking off the St. Patrick’s Day fun in the sweetest way! ☘️🧁
A huge thank you to Justin with Caris Hospice for coming out and making delicious Lucky Charms cupcakes with our residents. The smiles, laughter, and colorful treats made for a wonderful afternoon together. We are so thankful for community partners like Caris Healthcare who help create such special moments for our residents! 💚

Thursday night we had the honor of attending the Unicoi County Chamber of Commerce Annual Dinner, and we are so excited to share that we were named Healthcare Large Business of the Year!

We are incredibly thankful for this recognition and so proud of our amazing team who works every day to make our community a better place. Being able to serve the wonderful people of Unicoi County is truly a blessing to us.

We love being a part of the Chamber and this community that supports one another so well. This award belongs to our staff, residents, families, and everyone who makes what we do so meaningful.

We were blessed with not one, but TWO incredible performances yesterday! 🎶✨
It was such a joy to welcome the men back from Glaymorgan Chapel and to have The Mainer Family join us as well. Both performances were so sweet, spirit-filled, and truly touched our hearts.
We are beyond thankful for the wonderful groups who come into our community to share their gifts. They are such a blessing to our residents and staff, and days like this fill our halls with joy, worship, and smiles. 💛

Trying something new is always a win around here! 🎉
Today our residents tested out a brand-new game that brought out some serious (but friendly 😉) competition. Using their grip strength, they raced to collect all the cups into one stack...and let’s just say, it was much more challenging than it looked!
Of course, once they got started, they decided to add an extra stack challenge to really see who had the winning touch. 🏆
We love seeing our residents encourage one another, laugh together, and cheer each other on. Activities like this aren’t just fun: they help build strength, coordination, and connection. And today was full of smiles and shared laughs!

❄️ Snowy days like today have us reminiscing about warmer weather and one of our favorite summer outings to the Erwin National Fish Hatchery! 🐟🌞
Located right here in Unicoi County, the hatchery is such a peaceful and educational spot. Our residents loved seeing the trout up close, walking the grounds, and enjoying the beautiful mountain views. It’s a wonderful place that raises fish to help stock rivers and streams across the region. It makes for the perfect day trip!

While the snow is beautiful today, we are already dreaming about sunshine and planning future adventures. ☀️

Today we are celebrated a HUGE accomplishment — 10 amazing years of Monica being part of the Governor’s Bend family!
Monica is truly one of a kind. She pays attention to every little detail and to every resident’s needs. Many times, she knows what they need before they even say a word. That kind of heart, dedication, and compassion cannot be taught. It’s simply who she is. 💙
For a full decade, Monica has blessed our residents, supported her coworkers, and built meaningful relationships with families. She is loved and appreciated by so many, and Governor’s Bend is better because of her.
Monica, thank you for your commitment, your kindness, and your servant’s heart. 10 years is an incredible accomplishment, and we are so proud to celebrate you!
