To all of my dear customers and friends,
After much thought and prayer, I have decided to close Y Knot?…Massage?
At 1515 First Street in Escalon as of April 30,2023.
I will not be commuting a long distance anymore and will have more time with both of my parents which I am still thankful and blessed to have, as well as time with my (now teenaged) grandchildren as they begin to graduate and spread their wings. Though I look forward to this, It has been a very bittersweet decision for me. I will miss so many of you that have been a regular part of my work and life. I appreciate every opportunity that I have been given here in Escalon. I have had so much kindness and support shown to me, I will treasure every moment of my journey here.
That being said, if you have a gift certificate or remaining massages on previously purchased packages, now is the time to schedule an appointment. (209) 602-3320
Thank you for everything Escalon! Your residents are AMAZING!
With much love and gratitude ,
Kym Layton-Cummings

It is with much relief that I share this update with everyone. As far as the State of California is concerned, Massage at this time will no longer be forbidden in ANY tier. This is of course only if all protocol for client/therapist services are followed.
Rest assured that I follow those guidelines. It is important to me that you feel completely safe during your time at Y Knot?...Massage!
Hope to see you soon💖

Massage Therapy Reopening Updates

As of October 20, 2020, the State allows massage therapy to take place indoors, with modifications, in ALL four tiers identified in the Blueprint for a Safer Economy, even the purple, “Widespread” tier at:

Hello👋🏼
Just a quick post to let everyone know that massage has been officially halted in San Joaquin County until further notice. I am sad because I miss my clients SO much. I want all of you to stay safe and stay well so that when we get the OK to start up again I will be able to have you back as soon as possible. In the meantime, take care and be healthy. Send my Aloha to all of you💙💚💛

It’s finally happening❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️
I will be allowed to open. Officially tomorrow is the day but I’m still waiting on ONE MORE delivery of my “no-touch” thermometer to have all I need to open back up and start massages again. I am expecting it any day. Can’t wait to see everybody. I’m so excited ✋🏾❤️🤚🏾
Time to call/text to schedule an appointment❣️
Please leave a message if there is no answer. I might BE WORKING🤩

Good Morning Everyone🌺
You may have heard that the Governor has released Massage therapists to be able to go back to work ONLY with county and/or City approval. Unfortunately, San Joaquin County is not allowing massage yet, based on several County COVID-19 statistics. I will keep you posted. Stay Safe & Well
Have a Great Day, Kym🌺

😢 New letter changing everything they (State)said. I’m pretty disappointed

Dear CAMTC Certificate Holders:

The information being shared on the status of our profession can be confusing as the continuing impacts of COVID-19 and the reopening of California merge.

CAMTC has been listening closely to the Governor and his Administration to seek their best guidance as to the safe opening of massage therapy. Our report yesterday was an accurate reflection of the information we received from the Administration.

Today, however, we received an additional communication from the Director of the Department of Health Care Services:

“I apologize but my answer was premature, and any decision about broader availability of massage therapy is a decision that should come from the California Department of Public Health and local health departments. So please wait for direction from CDPH and local health departments. I am sorry for any confusion my answer has caused. Thank you.”

The up-to-date reality is that the State is not yet giving counties permission for massage therapists to generally provide services in California.

Be Safe and Be Well,

Jeff Forman, Ph.D.

Good News❣️
I received this communication today from the California Massage Therapy Council❣️

“CAMTC has been closely monitoring and reaching out to the Governor and the Administration for updates on the Stay in Place Order and where massage fits into the phases of reopening. Today, May 28, 2020, CAMTC received a message from the California Director of the Department of Health Care Services stating the following:

Although massage therapy has not been addressed specifically in State level announcements, the parallel with hair salons and barber shops that are providing one-on-one care for individuals seems appropriate. The precautions that were outlined regarding screening clients for illness, use of masks/face coverings by the massage therapist and client, staggering appointments so there is not contact between clients, etc. should be followed. Exceptions may be made by local health departments.

The State administration is therefore allowing massage to take place in the State, but the State guidelines for hair salons MUST be followed. Those guidelines can be found here: https://covid19.ca.gov/pdf/guidance-hair-salons.pdf. Additionally, local county health and safety guidelines must also be followed, which means if your local county does not allow massage to occur, massage may still not be authorized to take place in your local jurisdiction. This is because while the State is generally allowing massage to occur, it has also acknowledged that cities and counties have the authority to impose stricter restrictions than the State.

The health and safety of Certified Massage Therapists and their clients continues to be of the utmost importance to all of us. So while you MUST follow the health and safety guidelines provided by the State and your local jurisdiction, we also urge you to consider following even stricter protocols during this unprecedented time.”

Tomorrow, I will be checking in with the City of Escalon to find out if they will allow me to re-open.
I have ordered the supplies 🧼😷 🧴🌡 that I will be required to have however, they have not all arrived yet. As soon as everything comes in I will be starting up massage ✋🏾🤚🏾 again. We will have some new procedures to follow and some extra forms 📑 to fill out to make sure we maintain the highest level of safety. I am very much looking forward to seeing my clients again. I have dearly missed all of you💜💙

😞😔☹️😣😫😩😢😭
Just a quick update for those of you (myself included) who were wondering if massage would be part of the upcoming phase of businesses allowed to open back up to the public.
Massage is NOT one of them😢. The statement below was taken directly from CAMTC, the entity that approves and issues California massage therapists their State licenses.

FYI: As of this posting, May 26, 2020, the Governor has NOT approved massage therapists to resume their practice in California. Please be advised that CAMTC has communicated with the Administration and is monitoring the Governor’s directives closely.

WARNING!! Even though the Governor has issued guidelines for hair salons and barbers, the statewide Stay at Home Order remains in place, and massage has NOT been generally authorized to occur, except for one narrow exception (those working directly for physicians or chiropractors and providing deferred or preventive health care services).

The Governor’s Stay at Home Order is statewide, and compliance is mandatory.

Cities and counties do not have the legal authority to waive the State’s stricter requirements. As of today, no county has been granted a variance that allows massage businesses to reopen.
