Thankful that He rose from the grave so that I may have eternal life! A personal update from my family… Elise got a helmet almost 2 months ago, time has flown by… it was really hard for me but I’m thankful that she has taken well to it and is making progress! Hopefully only 2 more months to go! ✝️

Spring is the perfect time to build language skills during outdoor play. Nature walks are full of opportunities to model new vocabulary, expand your child’s words, and encourage conversation.

Try labeling what you see, expanding your child’s words into longer phrases, and asking simple questions during your walk. I'm actively doing this when I talk walks with my 1-year old!! (aghhh, still can't believe she's 1 now).

Little moments like these help language grow naturally.

💛 Save this for your next nature walk!

Can you believe that it's already spring?? I sure can't. This week will be starting spring activities for your kiddo.

Scatter paper flowers on the table and place a small bowl in the center to be your garden basket. Each flower can have a speech task such as answering a WH-question, repeating a target word, or practicing a speech sound.

Take turns flipping flowers and completing each task before adding it to the garden.

Along the way, encourage turn-taking language like:
• “My turn!”
• “Your turn!”
• “Can I go next?”

This simple activity can target articulation, language, and social communication while keeping learning playful.

🌼 Keep playing until your garden is full!

I was so proud of this kiddo as she tackled the CVCV word “honey”! I love working on as many trials as possible for speech sound kiddos with an abacus. They get the feel of sliding something across with their fingers, it’s colorful, and portable to take with me when I’m going from daycare, to private school, and then back to the office! Of course you can’t forget one of my go to therapy materials are these Bjorem speech sounds cue cards. My deck is well used and loved! Speechies what are some of your favorite tools! Reading together is one of the best ways to build speech, language, and connection. Even a few minutes of shared reading can help children practice vocabulary, comprehension, and social communication.

This month we're loving these books for targeting:
- early language
- sequencing
- WH- questions
- descriptive language
- perspective-taking

Swipe through for ideas on how to use each book during storytime!

💛 You can find all of these books in our Amazon reading list — linked in our bio.

Here's our 2nd St. Patty's day activity for the week! Looking for a fun way to practice speech sounds at home? Try this one if you have kiddos working on speech sounds.

1. Cut out paper shamrocks and write your child’s target sounds or words on each one.
2. As your child picks a clover, have them say the word 3–5 times before tossing it into a bowl or “pot of gold.”

This playful activity encourages repetition, movement, and motivation—three key ingredients for articulation practice.

You can also try:
- hiding the shamrocks for a “lucky word hunt”
- taping them to the wall and practicing each one
- sorting them by speech sound

👉 Save this for your next speech practice day!

St. Patty's day is coming up and this week I'll be sharing some fun activities you can try at home with your little one! This first activity helps children practice sequencing, storytelling, and expressive language.

Using paper shamrocks, write steps for catching a leprechaun and mix them up. Work together to put the steps in order using transition words like first, next, then, and last.

Once the steps are in order, challenge your child to retell the plan without looking at the shamrocks.

Playful activities like this help strengthen language skills while keeping learning fun.

Here's another FAQ that we get asked all the time! “What should I practice at home, and how often?”

Short, consistent practice works best. Aim for 5–10 minutes a day, built into everyday routines like playtime, reading, meals, or even car rides.

Focus on your child’s specific goals! Whether that’s sounds, words, or social skills and keep practice fun and pressure-free. Therapy doesn’t need to feel like homework.

💡 Parent tip: If you’re ever unsure what to work on at home, ask your therapist! We’re always happy to share simple ideas that fit your family’s routine.

Little moments, practiced often, truly make a big difference. 💛

As we wrap up February, I have 1 more Valentine themed activity!

Try practicing words like:
💗 sweet
💗 share
💗 kind
💗 hug
💗 love
💗 help

Here are a few simple ways to use them throughout the day:
- Act out each word together
- Ask your child to use the word in a sentence
- Talk about times they’ve seen or shown each word

You don’t need extra materials, just slow down, model language, and follow your child’s lead. 💛 Remember that everyday moments are full of opportunities to grow language, especially during Valentine’s season. I love this month!

👉 Save this for February or anytime you want to build emotional vocabulary through play.

Social communication grows through everyday moments, conversations, and connection!

In this carousel, you’ll find simple ways to support pragmatic and social language, including:
- talking about kind vs. hurtful words
- modeling empathy and emotional language
- practicing supportive phrases like “I understand” and “How can I help?”

These small, intentional conversations help children learn how their words affect others, understand emotions, and build meaningful connections!

👉 Save this post to revisit during everyday moments or big feelings.

Hey moms and dads, you don’t need fancy materials to practice speech sounds! You just need paper, markers, and a little creativity!

Try this simple activity at home:
1. Cut out paper hearts and write your child’s target sounds or words on each one
2. Practice sounds while tossing hearts into a bowl, taping them on a wall, or going on a “heart hunt” around the house
3. Say each word 3–5 times before moving on to the next heart

This playful approach encourages repetition, movement, and motivation, which are all key ingredients for articulation practice. 💛

👉 Save this for Valentine’s season (this month) or anytime you want to make speech practice fun.
