We offer specialized treatment programs for patients recovering from stroke, brain injury, neurological conditions, trauma, spinal cord injury, amputation and orthopedic injury as well as other injury and illness. Our rehabilitation programs are centered around the individual needs of each patient to improve health, function and quality of life. Acute Inpatient Rehabilitation Facilities differ from other post-acute options most notably in the amount of therapy offered and medical oversight provided. We offer specialized therapy, rehab-trained nursing care, rehabilitation physician involvement and disease state management tailored to our patient population. Our patients receive at least 3 hours of therapy at least 5 days each week.

Inpatient rehabilitation looks at the whole person when developing a recovery plan and involves multiple medical team members, including physical medicine rehabilitation, physiatrists, rehabilitation nurses, social workers, case managers and physical, occupational and speech therapists. We use rigorous improvement measures to track patient outcomes. This helps ensure we provide evidence-based care best suited to assist each patient in making the greatest gains possible.

Recently PHRI had another wonderful visit by the Canine Companions. They visit the patients, families and staff every other Wednesday. Everyone looks forward to these visits as they bring a bright light and healing vibe to the day. Linda Comunale is the owner of therapy dog, Nova. Linda was a patient at PHRI in 2021 after having a stroke. She made a full recovery and is happy to give back to the community. Teri McCartney is the owner of therapy dog, Kath (Kit Kat) and loves spreading happiness through this program. It’s truly a wonderful site to see the positive interaction these dog bring every time they visit. If you would like more information on Canine Companions, please visit their website at canine.org
