Perfect for summer. Apparently, putting cucumber slices in your water structures it, which makes it easier for our cells to absorb. Plus, it tastes really good.

Dry brushing is exactly what it sounds like… brushing the skin in a particular pattern with a dry brush, usually before showering. It has many potential benefits, from smoother skin to helping with lymphatic drainage.

How’s your digestion? Do you inhale your food, eat while driving, swallow without chewing properly? Are you bloated, gassy or have an upset stomach after eating? I think most of struggle with this. Sometimes it’s because we are eating the wrong foods, but mostly it’s because we need to slow down and really enjoy our meals. Ways to do this:
🧘🏽‍♀️Try to be more mindful and really enjoy your food. Slow down and notice the flavor and texture of what you are eating.

💨Take 3-10 deep diaphragmatic breaths before eating. Fill the belly with air. Inhale and exhale slowly. This puts your body in rest and digest, otherwise known as parasympathetic mode. The movement of your diaphragm will also help move stagnant lymphatic fluid.

😬Chew your food 20-30 times before swallowing. This will help your digestion. Smaller particles = better digestion.

This has been a game changer for me. Please give it a try. I’m sure you’ll notice a difference.

Dry brushing. Is it the next best thing for lymph drainage aside from MLD (manual lymphatic drainage)?

🌸Going by what I learned in my certification class, the answer is no. While still great for your lymphatic system, the best thing you can do is move your body! Swimming 🏊🏼‍♀️ is one of the best lymphatic movers. Just think of the pressure of the water coming in contact with your skin! So therapeutic.

🌼Walking 🚶🏾‍♀️is also excellent! When your muscles are moving and contracting, your lymph is being pumped in the lymphatic vessels. Yoga, weights, Pilates, and rebounding are also very good. Movement is key.

🌺Dry brushing is great and works, but you’ll get better results from movement. I still do it and recommend it for sure though. I love to dry brush before I sauna . The sauna takes lymphatic drainage to the next level in releasing those toxins through the skin. Always brush lightly toward the heart🫀. The pressure should be like the weight of a quarter on the skin. No need to scrub, unless you’re going for just exfoliation. I prefer soft bristles. This really feels good and gives you a great sense of well being! Don’t forget the soles of your feet, and your palms. Feels so good…

🌻When I’ve worked up a sweat and my muscles are warm, I like to finish off with some body gua sha using the Aura stone from for some toning and tightening, and a little healing oil from to help further detox the skin.

How do you move your lymph?

Officially a certified Manual Lymphatic Drainage Therapist. It’s been over a year since I first wanted to do this, but we all know what happened in 2020!

I patiently waited and jumped on the opportunity to take this class as soon as the school came to San Diego.

What an amazing experience! I feel even more drawn to this therapy and can’t wait to start my new business and to help people feel better.

So grateful for the beautiful souls I met in class and I’m now in touch with on social media. Massage therapists are a unique breed and I enjoyed being surrounded by them for the past 6 days. There was awesome energy in the class. The instructors were 💣 and I will never forget them. So thankful to have them as a resource.

Cheers 🥂 to the beginning of a new and exciting career.

✨My journey into holistic healing began years ago in my 20’s. My dad would come home with wellness magazines and pamphlets from the local health food store, which I would devour from cover to cover.
🌿This all led to my eventual employment at Whole Foods Market in Phoenix, where I continued to learn how the body can heal itself without dangerous drugs or treatments. I spent 10 years learning all about herbal and natural remedies, GMOs☠️, alternative medicine, nutrition, etc.
I will forever cherish my time there.
🩺I then became an RN in 2010. I have had an interesting journey working with a wide variety of people and some excellent nurses that I have learned so much from. I am now in hospice, which is a whole other level. I am not planning on leaving nursing entirely, but…
💫My passion for holistic healing is leading me down another path..learning the lymphatic system. Why? Because I experienced first hand how amazing it is. I had sinus and ear issues which were close to becoming full blown infections. I found some lymphatic drainage videos online, courtesy of my then amazing doctor, .jess.md, and within minutes I could feel my lymph draining and I felt over 50% better. With continued practice, I was 100% within a couple of days.
🌸I am now taking some time away from nursing to start my business. It requires more than I thought! I’m learning as I go. My lymphatic drainage training begins 8/26/21. In the meantime, if anyone has advice on starting a new business, tips and tricks, please reach out. 🤓

Thanks for being here! I can’t wait to educate on this amazing system that doesn’t get the recognition it deserves 💖

The lymphatic system is not one we immediately think of when referring to the body’s organ systems. Unfortunately, the lymphatic system is not working as it should in many people due to lack of proper nutrients, increased intake of processed foods, and lack of exercise. Because the lymphatic system lacks a pumping organ, we have to help it along with regular exercise, proper breathing, and good digestion. There are other ways to assist your lymphatic system to function at its best, including manual lymphatic drainage therapy. More on this to come, along with signs of an out of balance lymphatic system and more ways to assist it.
