Dear Valued Clients,

Due to the hands-on nature of my business and the pervasive and novel nature of the Covid-19 Corona Virus, it is with great regret that I have decided to cancel all appointments scheduled within the next two weeks, possibly beyond.

I feel it would be unethical to risk spreading the virus as there is no way to know if I, or the clients coming in, may have it and not yet be exhibiting symptoms. For weeks, our professional leaders have not provided guidance on how to proceed, leaving many of us to navigate by ourselves. Finally yesterday our state and national organizations made official statements strongly urging massage practitioners to close down for a minimum of 2 weeks. Even though so far no state or local government agency has mandated our specific industry to shut down, I'm just not able with good conscience to continue providing massage therapy until this pandemic threat has passed.

It is imperative for us all to do our part to help society get through this difficult time. It’s such a difficult decision to make... finding the balance between caution and chaos. I will revaluate the situation April 1 and update you for future appointments.

As the owner of North County Therapeutic Massage and on behalf of my associates that work independently within my office, I wanted to personally address the recent COVID-19 outbreak.

At North County Therapeutic Massage & Associates, our foremost priority will always be your safety and well-being. Due to the hands-on nature of the services we provide, it is our individual strict policy that as massage therapists we will stay home if we feel any flu-like symptoms, regardless of severity or type. In addition, we want to assure you that our environment is kept clean and sanitized aggressively during this time and always.

We wash all our sheets and towels in hot water and detergent and/or bleach. All surfaces (massage supplies, doorknobs, sink, toilet, light switches, etc) are wiped down / sterilized with disinfectant throughout the day. We practice hand washing before and after each client using hot water and soap for a minimum of 20 seconds.

We kindly ask that if you feel any flu-like symptoms whatsoever, we strongly encourage you to remain home, rest, and reschedule your massage until a later date. Of course there will be no late cancellation fees, and we will very much appreciate the fact that you have made our health a priority.

For those who are currently asymptomatic and healthy, there is no better time to receive a massage than right now. One of the many proven benefits of massage therapy is its ability to boost to the immune system by increasing the activity level of white blood cells -- the very cells that combat viruses like the flu and COVID-19.

This coronavirus outbreak will eventually end, and we look forward to that day. Until then, we appreciate your patience and hope you understand our reasons for keeping this new virus, as well as the flu, out of our office.
