What Is an EMG — and Why Do We Use It?

An EMG, or Electromyography, is a test that measures how your nerves and muscles are working together.

At NCEPT Physical Therapy, we use EMGs to help find the source of issues like:

Numbness or tingling

Muscle weakness

Nerve pain

Conditions like carpal tunnel or sciatica

By understanding how your nerves are functioning, we can pinpoint the problem and create a treatment plan that targets the real cause — not just the symptoms.

It’s one more way we make sure your care is specific, accurate, and effective.
