Many of us were loved, but somehow never fully felt wanted. That subtle gap shapes how we show up in the world, often without us even noticing. A free workbook is available to help you explore this and reconnect with what your nervous system truly craves.

Somatic Experiencing is a body-first way of healing stress, anxiety, and old trauma without having to re-live or re-tell the whole story.

Instead of only talking about what happened, we slow everything down and notice what’s happening in your body right now...the tightness in your chest, the flutter in your stomach, the heat in your face, the places that feel numb or frozen.

Why? Because your nervous system got stuck in survival mode (fight, flight, freeze, shutdown) a long time ago, and it’s still running that old program even when you’re safe. That stuck survival energy is what can show up as anxiety, chronic pain or fatigue, IBS, migraines, burnout, feeling numb, or like you can’t say no.

In SE, we do tiny, gentle experiments together:

You notice a sensation.
We let it move or change at its own pace (sometimes it gets bigger first, then it naturally settles).
Your nervous system finally gets to complete the self-protective responses it couldn’t finish back then (shaking, deep breaths, warmth spreading, tears, laughter, whatever wants to happen).
Each time that happens, your system learns: “Oh, I can feel this AND survive. I’m safe now.”
No forcing, no flooding, no cathartic meltdown required. Just little bites that add up to huge shifts.

Over a few sessions, people usually notice:

They can breathe all the way down into their belly again
Sleep gets deeper
Chronic pain or tension softens
Anxiety quiets down instead of running the show
They suddenly know what “yes” and “no” feel like in their body
Joy, desire, and pleasure start showing up again naturally
That’s it. The body already knows how to heal; SE just gives it the safety and space to do what it’s been trying to do all along.

Maybe you’ve spent years trying to feel better, but people rarely teach you how to recognize what “better” actually feels like.

You know stress. You know tension. You know what it’s like to hold it all together when you’re running on empty.

But calm? Ease? Joy? Your body may have forgotten what those feel like.

It’s not your fault.

When you’ve lived in survival mode for too long, your nervous system starts to believe that safety = being alert, productive, or braced for the next thing.
So when life finally does quiet down, your body doesn’t trust it. You can’t rest. You can’t feel calm, even when nothing’s wrong.

That’s where this work comes in.
In Somatic Experiencing®, we help your body relearn what safety, peace, and pleasure actually feel like, slowly, gently, through awareness and presence.

Because if your system doesn’t know how to recognize calm, it struggles ti return to it.

This is where real healing begins, not hyper-fixating on the triggers and what's wrong, but by learning to feel what’s right, what you desire, what you crave, and what you need.

If this resonates, I’d love to help you reconnect with that part of yourself again.

What if the parts of yourself you’ve been told to hide, your desires, your pleasures, even your shame, are actually your greatest sources of power?

In this episode of Everyday Intimacy, I sit down with Erotic Mystic and author Sharon Marie Scott to explore her book Forbidden Alchemy: Transmuting Taboo Into Erotic Medicine. We talk about how the feelings we’ve been taught to shame can guide us toward healing, self-mastery, and deeper connection. This conversation is for anyone who’s ever felt drawn to something they couldn’t name, curious about their edges, or ready to reclaim pleasure and sovereignty in their life.

Community and sisterhood are vital. The women who walk beside us remind us we’re not meant to do life or healing alone. Grateful for my dear friends who hold, laugh, and grow with me.
