Take a moment and think of someone you're lucky to have in your life.

Life is full of people who quietly shape our days —
the friend who checks in,
the teacher who believes in our kids,
the neighbor who waves every morning,
the sibling who knows us best.

The people who laugh with us, support us, and show up when it truly matters.

If someone came to mind while reading this, send this to them today. 🤍

This month I’ve also been feeling especially grateful for the wonderful kids in our Friends Club community.

These amazing kiddos are part of the families exploring this month’s theme with us — marching to the beat of your own drum.

Every child has their own rhythm, their own strengths, and their own way of shining.

We’re here to celebrate it.

Feeling very lucky for this growing community.

Every season seems to have its own soundtrack. 🎶

The songs we play while making breakfast.
The ones little feet dance to in the living room.
The background music to car rides, crafts, giggles, and ordinary afternoons that somehow become memories.

This month at Foundation Station, we’re marching to the beat of our own drum — celebrating individuality, confidence, movement, and discovering what makes each child uniquely them.

These are a few of the songs filling our home lately 🤍
Simple, playful reminders that:

✨ every rhythm belongs
✨ every voice matters
✨ and every child gets to be exactly who they are

Because sometimes the strongest message kids can hear is:

You’ve got to be you… and I’ve got to be me.

Save this for your next dance break, slow morning, or kitchen concert 💛

Do you have a song your kids are loving right now? I’m always looking to add new favorites!

This isn’t a perfect parenting page.
It’s a real one.

Built in the middle of laundry piles, snack negotiations, and bedtime negotiations.

From a mama of two under six who cares deeply about one thing:

Raising well-adjusted, emotionally steady humans — and building a home that feels safe, connected, and strong.

If you’re thinking about your child’s future — not just their preschool readiness — you’re in the right place.

Because Foundation Station isn’t about ABCs and 123s.

It’s about the life skills underneath everything else.

The ones that shape who your child becomes.

Here’s what that looks like:

🌿 The Quiet Station
A reflective corner for parents.
Real-life stories. Honest motherhood.
Encouragement for the days that feel ordinary — but are quietly building resilience, patience, and strength.

🌈 Our social space
“I see you” moments.
Simple bonding ideas.
Seasonal traditions, playlists, and books that make childhood feel slow and meaningful.

No pressure. No performance. Just presence.

📬 Friends Club (the children’s mailer)
Playful, connection-based mail for ages 3–6.
Personalized letters. Family prompts.
Hands-on activities rooted in emotional awareness, regulation, resilience, executive function, confidence — and more.

The foundations for lifelong success.

Because when a child knows how to understand their feelings, solve problems, recover from setbacks, and believe in who they are — everything else becomes easier.

Everything here is built around one belief:

Little moments matter.

If you’re in the thick of raising young kids — and you want to be intentional about who they’re becoming — follow along.

Daylight Saving Time is almost here…
and if you have little kids, you’re probably already bracing yourself 😅

If the time change tends to hit your house hard, this little trick might help.

In our home, we ease into the shift by adjusting bedtime and wake-up time by about 5-10 minutes each day leading up to it. Nothing dramatic — just small nudges.

It’s not perfect. It doesn’t always go exactly as planned. But we’ve found that gentler transitions tend to work better for everyone — especially little nervous systems that thrive on rhythm and predictability.

Sleep matters.

For kids to be themselves.
For us to be ourselves.
For patience, regulation, and all the big feelings that come with busy days.

When rest is steady, everything else feels a little steadier too.

Just sharing in case it helps another family over the next couple of weeks 🤍

If this was for you -

Follow along for simple ideas that support connection, regulation, and everyday family life.

Sick days call for simple moments.

The Flu week hit our house this week and between the baby, work, and not feeling great myself… I was running out of ideas and fast. And really didn’t want to turn the TV on again 😅

So we grabbed his mailer, reread his letter, and picked one of the low-prep activities.

Recycled containers.
A handful of lentils.
Some art supplies.
And Rainbow rubber bands from this month’s kit.

He made a shaker and a tiny drum, and we spent the morning making music together. His baby sister also enjoyed taking turns shaking the shaker and banging the drum which was really cute.

Before nap, we stepped outside barefoot for some fresh air. We played in the garden with the little “leprechaun house” made out of boxes 🍀

It wasn’t elaborate.
It wasn’t Pinterest-worthy.
It was just simple, calm connection moments.

This is one reason why I create and care so much about low-prep, connection-based play! It certainly comes in handy on the hard days!

Sometimes the quiet, simple days are the ones I’m most grateful for.

Green eggs and ham for breakfast?

What a fun blast from the past! It must be March lol.

Every year around this time, our house fills with tall red striped hats, silly rhymes, and at least one attempt at actually eating green eggs.

It’s one of those small, slightly silly family traditions that somehow stuck — and this year, we’re excited to share it with our daughter too, experiencing it for the first time with both kiddos together. I can’t wait to see their reactions 🤍

This story has always felt like more than just a silly rhyming book.

It’s about being so sure you don’t like something…
until you give it a chance.

As we step into our March to the Beat of Your Own Drum theme here at Foundation Station, we’re leaning into that very idea — discovering our likes and dislikes, trying new experiences (even when they feel a little weird), and learning that curiosity often opens doors we didn’t expect.

Sometimes growth starts with a simple,
“Okay… I’ll try.”

Happy Birthday to Dr. Seuss — and thank you for opening the door to so many wonderful connection moments for families like ours 📚🤍

I miss how simple childhood used to feel. National Retro Day always makes me reflect on the kind of childhood many of us grew up with.

Making up games with whatever we could find.
Drawing tic-tac-toe in the sand with a stick.
Lying in the grass on cool spring afternoons, searching for shapes in the clouds with my siblings.

Weeding and planting in the garden.
Riding bikes for hours.
Getting creative with sidewalk chalk — or rocks on warm pavement when we couldn’t find any.

Coming inside sun-tired at the end of the day.

Long afternoons that somehow felt endless.

No packed schedules.
Just boredom that turned into imagination, movement, and time together.

The beautiful thing is… our kids don’t have to miss out on a “retro” childhood.

The good old days don’t have to live behind us —
we can quietly create those same moments again, right now, with intention 🤍

To all our Blizzard friends ❄️

We had fun doing Frozen-themed yoga together tonight — stretching, giggling, and moving our bodies before winding down for bed.

You can find it on YouTube: P.E. With Mr. G.

Saving this idea here in case anyone needs an easy before-nap or bedtime activity 🤍

"I just really miss you"

That's what my son said to me the other night and my heart ached.

This season has brought a lot of changes for him:
Becoming a big brother
Starting school
Adjusting to schedules that were once slower and more fun.

Our time together looks different now... and thats been hard on both of us.

I share the full story over at the Quiet Station, a soft landing space for parents and caregivers raising littles.

If you're looking for a quiet place to decompress or simple feel understood - it's there for you. 🤍

He was acting out for a valid reason. He was adjusting — to being a big brother, to school, to sharing me. "I just really miss you." Those words landed somewhere deep in my chest.

If you’re in your Mama Chaos Era…
follow along. 🤍

Motherhood is beautiful.
And completely overstimulating.

Foundation Station was built for this version of motherhood —
the real one.
the tender one.
the tired one.

If you’ve ever hidden in the bathroom for 90 seconds of silence…
you’re my people. 😉
