ā€œI can’t do yoga… I hate sitting stillā€

If you’ve ever thought about that...

you’re not wrong.

You just haven’t found the right kind of yoga yet.

Because not all yoga looks the same.

Some classes are calm and still…

Others will have you moving the entire time.

Think:

Flowing from pose to pose
Holding strength in your core
Feeling your muscles shake (in the best way)

Classes like Vinyasa, Sculpt, or core-focused flows are built for people who need movement to stay engaged.

So no, you don’t have to sit still.

You just have to start moving with intention.

And that’s where everything starts to click.

04/16/2026

Most people don’t actually want to deal with stress.

They just want a break from it.

So they scroll.
They distract.
They push it down.

And for a moment… it works.

Until it doesn’t.

Because the stress is still there.

Yoga does something different.

It doesn’t help you escape your stre, it helps you move through it.

You feel where it sits in your body.
You notice your breath.
You stay with it just long enough for it to soften.

That’s why one class feels good but showing up consistently changes how you handle life.

You stop carrying everything.

You start releasing it.

And that shift?
It changes everything.

Morning yoga or evening yoga?

Everyone asks this…

ā€œShould I do yoga in the morning or at night?ā€

And the honest answer is:

It depends on you.

Morning yoga is powerful if:
You wake up stiff
Your mind feels busy before the day even starts
You want energy without relying on caffeine

That’s exactly why our early morning classes exist.

You show up…
You move your body…
And suddenly your whole day feels different before it even begins.

Evening yoga works better if:
Your back and shoulders feel tight after work
You carry stress into the night
You struggle to fully unwind

And here’s where most people get stuck…

They skip it completely because they can’t make it to a class.

That’s why we created our pre-recorded library so during evening or even on your busiest days, you still have somewhere to land.

But here’s the part most people skip…

The ā€œbestā€ time doesn’t matter
if you’re not consistent.

So instead of choosing the perfect time…

Choose the one you’ll actually show up for.

Morning in the studio.
Evening at home.
Or a mix of both.

That’s how this becomes a routine you stick to.

If you’re ready to start,
both options are waiting for you.

Links are in my bio.

So tell me…
are you a morning flow or evening reset? šŸ‘‡

You can love the outdoors and the mat.

You don’t have to choose.

You can love hiking, fresh air, wide open Wyoming skies…
AND still crave your mat.

Because your mat isn’t replacing the outdoors.

It’s what makes you stronger for it.

Stronger core = better balance on uneven trails
Stronger breath = more endurance
Stronger body = less pain after long days outside

Most people think yoga is the alternative to movement.

It’s not.

It’s the foundation.

So you can keep doing everything you love… longer.

Drop a šŸ™‹ā€ā™€ļø if you’re both: outdoors + yoga

Your core is not your six-pack. And until you understand that, you'll keep training the wrong thing.

This is the most common misunderstanding I see and it's holding so many people back.

When most people think "core," they think abs.

Crunches. Sit-ups. That burning sensation right below your belly button.

But your core?

It's so much bigger than that.

Your core is a full cylinder of muscle that wraps around your entire midsection, front, back, sides, and even your pelvic floor and diaphragm.

It is the foundation of every single movement your body makes.

And here's what happens when you only train the surface of it:

The deep stabilizing muscles stay weak.

Your spine stays vulnerable.

Your posture stays collapsed.

Your back keeps aching.

And no matter how many crunches you do, nothing really changes.

Core-focused yoga targets all of it.

The deep muscles you can't see.

The stabilizers that protect your spine.

The breath connection that activates your core from the inside out.

The full-body integration that makes your strength actually functional.

This is what we do in every single class at I Heart Yoga WY.

Not surface work.
Not just abs.

Real, deep, full-core strength that changes how you move through your entire life.

Save this and share it with someone who thinks crunches are enough.

6 things yoga does for your mental health that nobody talks about openly enough.

Because we spend so much time talking about the physical.

The flexibility. The strength. The core.

And all of that is real.

But this? This is what keeps people coming back for years.

1. It gives your anxious mind something to do.

Anxiety thrives in the absence of presence. Yoga demands your full attention, breath, body, movement, stillness. You literally cannot spiral and flow at the same time. The mat becomes the one place your mind gets to rest.

2. It teaches you to sit with discomfort without running from it.

Holding a challenging pose. Breathing through a deep stretch. Staying present when everything in you wants to quit. These are not just physical skills. They are life skills. And you practice them every single class.

3. It breaks the stress cycle before it breaks you.

Stress compounds when it has nowhere to go. Yoga gives it somewhere to go, through intentional movement, breathwork, and a nervous system that finally gets permission to exhale.

4. It rebuilds your relationship with your own body.

So many people feel disconnected from, frustrated by, or at war with their bodies. Yoga is one of the few practices that asks you to listen instead of fight. And that shift, from pushing to listening, changes everything.

5. It creates a ritual that belongs entirely to you.

In a life full of obligations and other people's needs, your mat is yours. That hour is yours. That breath is yours. Having something that is entirely and unapologetically yours matters more than most people realize.

6. It shows you that you can do hard things.

Every time you show up when you didn't feel like it, you prove something to yourself. Every time you hold a pose longer than you thought you could, you prove something to yourself. That quiet confidence builds. And it doesn't stay on the mat.

Your mental health deserves the same attention as your physical health.

This is what we practice everyday at I Heart Yoga WY. All levels. All bodies. All welcome.

You tried yoga once. You hated it. And you swore you'd never go back.

I get it. But hear me out.

Maybe the class moved too fast.

Maybe you spent the whole time lost, looking around, trying to figure out what everyone else was doing.

Maybe you felt stiff, out of place, and like everyone in the room had been doing this their whole life.

Maybe you left feeling more frustrated than when you walked in.

And you decided yoga just isn't for me.

Here's what I want to say to that:

That wasn't yoga failing you.

That was one class. One experience. One day.

And it doesn't have to be the whole story.

Because here's what I know after teaching yoga in Wyoming:

The people who "hated yoga the first time" are often the ones who end up loving it the most.

Why?

Because they came back with lower expectations.

Less pressure to perform.

Less need to look like they knew what they were doing.

And they actually felt it for the first time.

The real version of it.

Not the intimidating, keep-up-or-get-lost version.

The kind where you're guided through every move.

Where modifications are always offered.

Where nobody is watching you because everyone is focused on their own mat.

Where the goal was never perfection, it was just presence.

That's what every single class at I Heart Yoga WY is built to be.

Beginner-friendly. All levels. Always.

If you wrote off yoga after one bad experience, I'm asking you to give it one more chance.

One class. That's all.

Drop a šŸ’› if this is you. I'd love to have you back on the mat.

Why your core shuts down when you're stressed and how yoga switches it back on.

This connection is real. And once you understand it, everything clicks.

Here's what happens in your body when stress takes over:

Your nervous system goes into survival mode.

Your breath gets shallow, moving up into your chest instead of down into your belly.

Your deep core muscles, the ones designed to stabilize and support, disengage.

And your body starts compensating with tension, bracing, and holding patterns that were never meant to be permanent.

Sound familiar?

Tight shoulders. Stiff lower back. A core that feels disconnected no matter how much you train it.

This is not a strength problem.
This is a nervous system problem.
And yoga addresses it at the root.

Here's how:

Breathwork first, breathing into your belly, not your chest, is the direct signal that reactivates your deep core muscles.

Slow, intentional movement. Fast, reactive exercise keeps your nervous system in overdrive. Yoga slows it down enough for your body to actually feel what's engaging and why.

Presence over performance. When you stop trying to muscle through and start actually feeling your movement, your core stops being something you work and starts being something you inhabit.

Your core doesn't need more pressure.

It needs the right environment to switch back on.

That environment? It's your mat.

Save this and come experience it for yourself.

5 signs your core is finally getting stronger.

1. Your lower back stops talking to you.

That dull, persistent ache that you've been managing for months, it starts to quiet down. Not because something was fixed, but because your core is finally doing its job of supporting your spine.

2. You stand differently.

You catch yourself in a mirror and notice your shoulders are back, your chest is open. You're not bracing or holding yourself up with tension anymore. Your core is holding you.

3. Everyday movements feel easier.

Picking something up off the floor, carrying bags, climbing stairs. Things that used to quietly drain you start feeling effortless. That's functional core strength at work.

4. You breathe deeper without thinking about it.

Your breath and your core are directly connected. As one strengthens, the other opens. You'll notice your breath reaching places it hasn't in years.

5. You feel more grounded and present.

This one surprises people every time. A strong, engaged core isn't just physical, it creates a sense of stability and calm that radiates outward into how you handle everything.

This is the transformation that happens when you commit to core-focused yoga consistently.

Not in years.
In weeks.

Which one of these are you working toward? Drop the number below.

What happens to your body when you do yoga before 9am and why it changes everything that comes after.

Most people save movement for later in the day.

After work. After errands. After everything else gets handled.

And by then the energy is gone, the excuses are louder, and the mat never gets unrolled.

Here's what the early morning class does differently:

Your cortisol is naturally highest in the morning.

This is your body's built-in energy and focus hormone. Yoga at this time works with your biology, not against it, channeling that natural alertness into intentional movement instead of letting it burn off as anxiety.

You set the tone before the world demands anything from you.

Before the emails. Before the to-do list. Before anyone needs anything from you, you've already done something entirely for yourself. That feeling carries all day.

Your body is ready to move, it just needs waking up.

Morning stiffness isn't a sign you shouldn't move. It's a sign you should. Yoga gently mobilizes every joint, warms every muscle, and gets your body operating at full capacity before your day even begins.

You eliminate the "I'll go later" trap.

Later never comes. Morning does. Every single day.

Your focus sharpens for hours afterward.

Movement plus breath plus presence equals a brain that's clear, calm, and ready. No coffee required, though we won't judge if you bring one.

This is exactly why we offer 6:00am Vinyasa Flow every Tuesday and Thursday at I Heart Yoga WY.

One hour. Before the world wakes up.

For the version of you that wants to win the day before it starts.

Your 6:00am mat is waiting, link in bio to book your spot.

The thing I want most for every single person who presses play on these videos? I want them to surprise themselves.

Because that's what yoga does.

You show up thinking it's just a 15-minute workout.

And somewhere in the middle of it, in the middle of a core sequence that's quietly firing muscles you forgot you had, or a twist that releases something you didn't even realize you were holding, something shifts.

You realize you're stronger than you thought.
More capable than you gave yourself credit for.
More present in your body than you've been in a long time.

That surprise?

That's the moment I live for as an instructor.

I've watched it happen over and over again in our classes. The person who came in saying "I can't do this" holding a pose longer than they expected. The person who thought yoga was too slow leaving class feeling more challenged than any workout they'd done all week.

It happens every time.

And now I want it to happen for you, right in your own home.

In 15 minutes.

With our free Core, Sculpt, and Twist and Release mini classes, I want you to finish and think:

Wait. I just did that.

Because you did.
And you'll do it again tomorrow.
And the day after that.

And that's how a practice begins.

Not with a big commitment.
Not with the perfect schedule.
Just with one 15-minute moment of showing up for yourself.

Your mat is ready when you are.
