Iâm a massage therapist⌠and yes, I use tools on myself. Because I practice what I preach. đ
This is my Body Back Buddy trigger point tool, and itâs basically how I reach the exact spots I tell you about in the treatment room⌠without turning into a human pretzel.
What Iâm doing (the same way I coach clients):
⢠Find the tender âtight spotâ (not sharp, not zappy)
⢠Pressure stays at 5-6/10 (if youâre white-knuckling it, itâs too much)
⢠Hold 20-40 seconds while you breathe slow
⢠Add tiny movement (turn your head, roll your shoulder, reach) to teach the tissue a new option
⢠Re-test your range of motion like a nerd (because results matter)
My rule as a therapist:
If it helps you move better after 60 seconds, keep it.
If it just hurts and you feel sore for days, itâs not treatment - itâs punishment.
Save this for your next âwhy is my neck like this?â moment. đ
