Upstream Access and the PSC present: Emergency Preparedness Event!

Date: January 20th (Tuesday)
Time: 3:30-5pm
Where: at 990 Oak St, the Peer Support Club

Upstream Access, a nonprofit from Portland, is kindly coming down on 01/20/26 (after the Membership Meeting) to teach us about Emergency Preparedness & hook us up with free equipment related to EP, such as hand crank radios, flash lights, hand warmers, etc!!

For over 40 years, the National Council on Independent Living (NCIL) has worked to ensure that people with disabilities have the same right as anyone else: to live independently, in their own homes, and as part of their communities.

Today, that right faces new uncertainty. Shifts in federal funding and oversight have created instability for the nationwide network of Centers for Independent Living (CILs) and Statewide Independent Living Councils (SILCs).

These organizations provide critical services and advocacy every day, helping people transition out of institutions, securing housing, making homes accessible, providing peer mentoring, and ensuring access to healthcare, education, and employment.

When funding is disrupted, lives are disrupted. Without support, people risk losing their independence, being forced into costly institutions, or going without essential services.

That’s why NCIL is launching the Protect IL Campaign. This campaign will defend the infrastructure that makes supports and service delivery possible and stronger.

Together, we can protect what matters most: the freedom of every person with a disability to live in their own home, make their own choices, and participate fully in community life.

Thank you to Just Hair salon for donating such a beautiful, huge ficus tree to the Peer Support Club - Members will be thrilled to have this addition to our mental health center!

Fun fact: horticultural therapy is scientifically proven to improve symptoms of many mental health concerns. Here at the PSC, we DIG stuff that helps us BRANCH out on our mental health support!

Hello friends! We wanted to let you know that the Peer Support Club's NEW Member application process is temporarily closed for the year. Our winter hours remain the same, and the services we offer remain the same - we just aren't accepting new apps for now.

What this means is that any NEW applications (not including renewals) will not be accepted at this time. You are still welcome to come visit us for a tour and stay for up to one class, but you cannot stay longer than that until we reopen our Membership process.

Services at our Main Office location remain open and available to everyone who qualifies (call our main office at 541-607-7020, M-Th 10am-2pm for more information)

We will revisit this status in January 2026, so stay tuned!

Veterans Thanksgiving Project

Fully prepared Thanksgiving meals delivered right to our Veteran's door

Sole to Soul has been providing fully cooked Thanksgiving Dinners to Veterans of Lane County and surrounding counties for 10 years.

If you, or a Veteran you know, is wanting to receive a meal from us, please contact Robin Brown-Wood for sing-up information.
The only requirement is the Veteran must be in need and be housed. We feed family members as well so everyone can have their loved ones at the table.

Sign-ups begin October 1st and end November 1st - NO EXCEPTIONS! Meals will be delivered the morning of Thanksgiving Day. Veterans will receive further info by phone the week of Thanksgiving.

Join our 6 week Walk With Ease group for FREE! Starts Oct 7th, 2025 and meets 2X a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays. We meet at the OSU Lane County Extension Service office at: 996 Jefferson St., Eugene, OR 97402 at 2PM. Anyone can sign up for Walk With Ease, including people with disabilities.
