I’m very excited to announce my forthcoming book, Prescribing Nature: A Clinician’s Guide to Ecotherapy. The book will be released by W.W. Norton Professional Books on October 21st. With mounting evidence that interactions with nature offer psychological benefits, and awareness of the growing impacts of climate-related anxiety and trauma, more clinicians are interested in incorporating nature into their work. Whether you are moving therapy outdoors, writing nature prescriptions for clients, or bringing the outdoors into your office, you’ll find practical strategies that broaden the lens of your therapeutic work to include the human-nature relationship.

I find that the stresses and small hurts of a bad day often drift away on the tide of a good, long walk.

And therapists trained in ecotherapy are now using the healing power of nature in their work with clients experiencing profound anxiety and depression.

I loved talking with Patricia H Hasbach, Ph.D. - Northwest Ecotherapy on podcast this week about nature, awe, the power of green, and how to bring nature inside as part of the therapeutic journey.
