Yoga for Lymph - a peek into a session 🧘♀️
I present the basics of the lymphatic system and invite people to tap around the neck, collar bones, armpits, belly, groin, and back of knees, just to familiarize.
We tune into the spleen and 3rd router and connect with the breath and natural rhythms.
We talk about the lymph patterns and highlight the importance of stimulating the left thoracic duct.
We connect the LTD to the cisterna chyli. We continue tapping and massaging to stimulate lymphatic organs, tissues, and glands and to activate the main lymph nodal networks.
Then, as we move through gentle movements, I remind them of the diaphragmatic breathing, and I invite their attention to the spaces on the body that are experiencing compression or elongation to facilitate lymphatic drainage.
We practice reclining, seated, hand and knees, and standing poses. We elevate legs and arms, allowing for easy flow back to the CC, LTD, and heart. We move the spine in all possible ways through seated spinal flexion and extension, lateral movements, and gentle spinal twists. We lightly bounce up and down on toes to help circulation and lymphatic pumping.
After an hour of very gentle and intentional movement paired with deep breathing, we are ready to settle into comfort for a sound bath. I use gongs, singing bowls, bells, chimes, rattles, and a flute to invite them into a deep state of relaxation and restoration, integrating. Afterward, I invite everyone back to the moment and remind them that they have many tools to help their lymphatic system, and hopefully, they use them daily.
I'm already looking forward to offering an entire series in 2026!! Thanks for reading. Have a wonderful day.
