I recently read an article in the American Massage Therapist Association's latest journal on some studies affirming that massage is effective for helping fibromyalgia.
The studies cited were from the work of Michael J Schneider, DC Ph. D at Univ. of Pittsburgh and another from a study done at the Oregon Health Science Ctr. They both support that massage helps those with FM. Both also cited that the Central Nervous Center is a major factor in FM. They also have found that anxiety plays a major role in FM.
These studies seem to support my position cited in my previous blog about FM.
I have found that Bowen work is very effective for helping those with FM as well as teaching about mindful practices.
Also, it is essential that a person with FM come to believe that their world is safe. Which today is very difficult.
