March is National Nutrition Month! 🥗Discover how healthy meals can power up your routine with advice from dietitian Lauren Chase of Cascade Health Diabetes & Nutrition Education.

Pro tip: When building healthy meals and snacks, try to pair at least two food groups together for more satisfaction. Alternate between food groups to get a balance of nutrients throughout the day.

Select one food each from at least two categories to make a balanced meal. At your next meal, pick two different categories to change it up. 🍅🐟🍏

Many of those whose lives have been touched by Pete Moore Hospice House wonder, “Who was Pete Moore?”

The hospice house is named in honor of J. Peter “Pete” Moore, a local businessman and philanthropist whose life was rooted in service to his community. Pete believed deeply in giving back - and in using business as a force for good. Through his leadership at Pepsi‑Cola Bottling Co. of Eugene (now Bigfoot Beverages), he inspired employees, colleagues and community leaders alike to join him in supporting quality, accessible health care for all.

“He felt it was a huge responsibility for business people to be involved and give back and improve their communities,” says his son, Andy Moore, current Co‑President of Bigfoot Beverages and a Cascade Health Board Member. “He instilled that in everyone around him - that we need to do this together, we need to do it for the community. And that’s really what the hospice house project was.”

Today, the Pete Moore Hospice House stands as a living reflection of that belief: a place where compassion, community and care come together - just as Pete envisioned.

! When we stumbled across these old architectural drawings for Pete Moore Hospice House from more than a decade ago, we couldn't resist sharing. Since then, the vision has become a reality - the beautiful, lodge-inspired building is Lane County's only hospice house, with 14 beds, hospital-level care, and serene gardens for patients and families. It's only possible because of amazing community support, and we are so grateful. 💜💙
