“Long before calendar-time and clock-time, our ancestors recognized this time of year as the midpoint between Winter and Spring. Cold nights persist and perhaps even grow colder for a time, and yet the Sun creeps higher in the sky every day. It makes sense, then, that this has historically been a time for attuning to Light and celebrating Fire.
When we let ourselves slow to the pace of the natural world, we’re reminded of an ancient, elemental knowledge buried deep within us. Yes, our modern society makes it challenging to cultivate rest and space and other Winter-qualities. However we can still cultivate harmony with both the growing light and the persistent darkness of the season. As you tend to it with patience, that inner, replenishing Space will bloom into your waking, relational experience.”
