Dr. Kramer brings extensive experience in corneal care and specialty contact lenses, combining years in private practice with five years on faculty at the University of Missouri–St. Louis, where he educated and mentored future optometrists.

👁️ Scleral lenses are best removed using a small plunger, and placement matters.

💧 Start by wetting the plunger with a drop of non-preserved saline or multipurpose solution.
👉 Place the plunger on the mid-periphery or edge of the lens, not the center.
✔️ Make sure the plunger is fully adhered to the lens, partial suction can make removal harder.
⚠️ Avoid placing the plunger directly in the middle of the lens. This creates too much suction and makes removal difficult.
