Meet Kayne- Our newest NSP "Learn to Earn" teammate. Kayne has been searching for a long term job placement. He has been active with VR and ODDS to help him with a job that was meaningful and supportive. His last two placements did not work out. Kayne came to NSP and specifically asked to work with Aidan. What we do at NSP is to be human centered. We took a look at Kayne's support needs, his personal work goals and what resources we have available and developed his North Star plan. A job training program individualized to Kayne. Soft skills is a big part of our training program. Aidan already has a bond with Kayne, so our mission is to support Kayne to be the best NSP employee he can be.
Are you someone frustrated with job placement options? DM to NSP/Sydney with the words WANT TO WORK to set up a time to visit our job training center in Eugene.

I had a totally different post planned to share today but Guillermo shared this photo with me and I stopped in my shoes. This photo bring me so much joy. I love that at North Star Pathways we can transform lives. This pic shows me and Alex working, engaged and connected.

**** Back story
Alex broke his ankle in several places on Mother's Day. His mom reached out to me because he was worried about work. I said "we can accommodate" He was back at work on Tuesday. We found ways to make sure he was comfortable while in pain. If this was me, I would have called out and not wanted to work.

This week we reopened our doors with NSP's Learn to Earn Program. I wanted to highlight NSP's newest worker, Alex. Having a job has been very important to Alex, but due to Covid restrictions Alex has not had meaningful opportunities (at all) since 2020. This week was Alex's first week in a program and one that focused on job skills. A new program, new schedule, new people would freak most of us out. Not Alex- he rocked his first week with NSP. He also volunteered with Sarah's Closet (one of NSP's vocational volunteer programs) for a total of 8 hours this week. This is what NSP is all about!!! We are reimagining what vocational day programming can look like.

Hello All,
I wanted to send out an update and an announcement.

North Star Pathways has changed management and Sydney Chamorro is now the CEO of North Star Pathways.
At this time NSP is not currently running. While NSP is transitioning and rebranding; Sydney Chamorro is launching Family Training Workshops.
