It's common knowledge that stretching is good for your body but did you know that these benefits extend to your hands and wrists? Stretching your hands and wrists can prevent injury, ease pain and improve mobility. Here's a simple stretch you can try now. Hold up five fingers with your palm facing away from your body. With the other hand, gently hold one finger at a time and pull it towards you until you feel a little resistance and hold that position for 10 seconds. This should feel like a light stretch. It should not be painful!

Babies under four months of age aren't likely to play with toys or interact with their surroundings. That being said, because they haven’t learned to control their limbs, they could accidentally grab or knock over a teddy bear or nearby object. Be careful not to lay your baby near chords or objects within their reach. To keep them safe during the night, you should also avoid putting toys in their crib with them.

They make a great snack and can help curb your appetite between meals. Just be sure to buy the kinds that have low to no salt added to them.

Do you have a furry friend in the family? Research shows that having a positive relationship with a pet can be beneficial to our health. In children, assisting in the care of a pet increases their empathy for others. Pets can make us feel less stressed as well as give us a reason to get up and play or go outdoors. They can provide companionship and social support to adults and children. But be advised, pets are living beings who need attention, exercise, and certain living environments to thrive. If you are going to introduce a pet into your home, make sure you and your family have the tools and the time to train and care for an animal in your home.

Healthy habits that are started in childhood tend to carry on into adulthood. It's never too early to start encouraging your child to seek out healthy foods for snacks and meals. Here's a simple way to teach your teenagers to select balanced meals that contain fiber, calcium, vitamin D, Iron, and Potassium. Tell them to hold up four fingers and name them Berries, Beans, Potato & Greens. If they can incorporate these non-fried foods into 2 meals during the day, they are on the right track to healthy nutrition.
