Alberta Soileau Taylor Fontenot

EUNICE- Alberta Soileau Taylor Fontenot was born on January 22, 1931, in Mamou, Louisiana, to the late Gladys and Herbert Soileau. A native of Mamou, she later made her home in Eunice, Louisiana. Alberta dedicated her time to serving others, volunteering as a Pink Lady at Moosa Memorial Hospital. She was also the former owner of Larry Fontenot’s Tire Service. A devoted woman of faith, Alberta was a lifelong member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church and an active member of the Ladies Altar Society.

Alberta found great joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved camping, traveling, and watching football, especially cheering on her beloved Saints and Tigers. Above all, she treasured time spent with her family and friends, particularly her many grandchildren. She had a passion for gardening and could often be found tending to her greenhouse and yard. Alberta will be remembered for her warm smile and the little dances that brought joy to those around her. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Alberta is survived by her daughter, Anzia Taylor Moore of Lake Charles; her four sons, Blair Fontenot and wife, Cindy of Eunice, Steve Fontenot of Hartford, Arkansas, John Neal Fontenot and wife, Darnell of Eunice, and Paul Fontenot of Eunice. She is also survived by her siblings: Wilfred “Brud” Soileau and wife, Jamie Lynn of Mamou, Herbert “Crow” Soileau and wife, Ellen of Opelousas, and Juanita Radaich of Checotah, Oklahoma, as well as Deola Ardoin and husband, Barron of Eunice. Alberta leaves behind a legacy of 20 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.

Alberta was preceded in death by her husband, John Homer “Buzz” Taylor; her husband, Larry John Fontenot; her daughter, Janie Taylor Stout and her husband, Larry; her parents, Gladys and Herbert Soileau; and three grandchildren, Rhett Fontenot, Skye Moore, and Chance Fontenot.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Eunice on Thursday, March 26, 2026, beginning at 9:00 am, with a Rosary at 11:00am, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 2:00 pm at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Eunice. Sharona Marie LeBouef

Sharona Marie LeBouef of Basile passed away on Monday, March 23, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Visitation will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Eunice on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, beginning at 8:00 a.m., with a funeral service to follow at 6:00 p.m.

Sharona lived a life full of love and laughter, which she shared generously with everyone around her. Her most cherished and impactful roles were those of grandmother, mother, and friend. She deeply loved being involved in her grandchildren’s lives—baking their birthday cakes, never missing a school function, and listening attentively as they shared stories about their day. Whenever her family needed a helping hand, she was always there, often stepping in to lovingly care for her grandchildren.

She had a passion for cooking, but her creativity extended far beyond the kitchen. Sharona was highly skilled in sewing and found great joy in creating beautiful flower arrangements. She also enjoyed spending time watching football.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Scotty James LeBouef; her parents, Pearl and Iray McGee; her brothers, Daniel Ray McGee and Gary James McGee; and her sister, Alice Faye Reed.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Lamm Hospice and The Carpenter House, especially her nurses, Tosha, Hope, and Jessica. Your compassion and care during this difficult time will never be forgotten.
