Dr. Zakopoulos' office is located at Acadian Medical Center on the second floor of the physicians' plaza.

A native of Greece, Dr. Z attended Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Harvard Medical School, University of Texas at Houston, and Thomas Jefferson University.

Today Dr. Iordanis Zakopoulos, General Surgeon, along with Leah Trahan, NP at AMC/LSUE Bengal Care clinic, spoke to LSUE faculty and students about the importance of annual screenings.

October is breast cancer awareness month and early detection is KEY! Louisiana ranks 4th in the United States for female breast cancer rate. Regular screenings are important and can save a life.

Acadian Medical Center welcomes Dr. Iordanis Zakopoulos, General Surgeon.

Dr. Zakopoulos received his medical degree from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. He subsequently completed his internship at Harvard Medical School and his residency in General Surgery at University of Texas at Houston. In addition, he holds a Master of Public Health degree from Thomas Jefferson University.

Dr. Zakopoulos specializes in General Surgery, with a particular focus on minimally invasive techniques, including laparoscopic and robotic surgery.
