California's average temperature has risen by approximately 2.5°F to 3°F in the last 100 years, and this warming has led to an increase in agricultural water demand. One study found that increased crop water demand accounts for half of the cumulative deficits in the San Joaquin Valley's agricultural water balance since 1980. This has increased water demand by about 650 thousand acre-feet per year in the San Joaquin Valley region alone.
It's time to rethink agriculture. Stay tuned to learn more about what we are doing.
