Greenwood County Cattleman's Day Parade 2025. Residents overcame the chilly weather this afternoon to recognize our Cattlemen and women parade by.

WOW! Trunk or Treat on Main Street was such a great turnout! Our residents had a blast taking turns passing out candy — all dressed up as the Spice Girls just getting to see so many of the trick-or-treaters!

Then today, we wrapped up our Halloween Monster Bash, complete with fun games, delicious food, and plenty of laughs.

Our costume contest was amazing this year, and the pumpkin decorating contest was just as impressive!

It was a spooktacular blast from start to finish!

Description: In preparation for our Monster Bash celebration and Trunk or Treat on Main street, residents enjoyed a fun and festive nail day! Bright colors, spooky designs, and plenty of laughter filled the room as everyone got into the Halloween spirit.

This week, our residents embraced the joy of self-care and celebration. Taking time to be pampered and share in the excitement of the season lifted spirits and encouraged meaningful connections. It’s amazing how something as simple as a fresh set of Halloween nails can bring out smiles and a little extra sparkle!

Activity: Candy Corn Craft
Description: Residents got creative making candy corn candy holders for our Pre-K visitors in celebration of their visit the day before Halloween—which also happens to be National Candy Corn Day! Our residents also took part in a fun Butter Bean Auction the following day.

This week, our residents put their creativity and problem-solving skills to work as they crafted adorable candy corn candy holders to share with our Pre-K guests. The fun continued with our Butter Bean Auction, where residents enjoyed friendly competition and plenty of laughs while bidding on prizes.

From crafting to “bidding wars,” our residents kept their minds active and spirits high.

Our residents at Eureka Nursing Center got into the Halloween spirit by creating festive spiders out of colorful beads and wire! This hands-on craft gave everyone a chance to express their creativity, practice fine motor skills, and take pride in their spooky little creations. The best part? Seeing each resident’s unique personality come to life through their one-of-a-kind beaded spiders!

Description: Residents took a scenic drive around town while playing a game of Bingo focused on local landmarks.
This week, our residents hit the road for a little adventure! As we explored familiar sights and favorite spots around town, residents marked off landmarks on their Bingo cards—from park statues and unique mailboxes to seasonal lawn decorations. The activity encouraged everyone to enjoy the beauty of our community, appreciate the world around them, and connect with their environment in a fun, engaging way.
There’s something special about getting out, seeing new things, and sharing memories along the way!

Description: Pick a balloon, pop balloon, see what’s inside.
This week, our residents had a blast playing Crazy Balloon! The game was simple but full of surprises—pick a balloon, pop it, and see what’s inside. Sometimes it was a question to answer, other times it was a fun/funny action like singing, dancing, or something like - hold a yoga pose until another balloon pops.
No matter what was inside the balloon, one thing was certain… we had fun and even learned a little more about each other.

Activity: Travel Hour (Snacks and Info/Trivia from around the world)

Destination: Czech Republic

This week, our residents gathered to learn about and taste various snacks from the Czech Republic. After learning about the snack and trying a sample, our residents judged them from best to worst. Ghost Syra Cheese flavor won first place. These snacks are shaped like ghosts with a savory, cheesy flavor. The worst snack by unanimous decision was the Czech Republic Cola known as Kofola. It was just too different from anything we are accustomed to. One thing for sure though is this: we enjoyed traveling to the Czech Republic through their cultural food and discovering about some of their traditions.
