Del Norte Unified School District (DNUSD) Nutrition Services will be hosting a special Thanksgiving Break Meal Distribution on Monday, November 24th from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM (or until all food is gone).

Meals will be available at the following locations:

Family Resource Center of the Redwoods

L.I.H.E.A.P – Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program
The Yurok Client Services Department is now accepting applications for energy assistance.

This program helps Low Income Yurok Tribal Households within Humboldt, Del Norte, and Trinity Counties with home energy costs.

Application Dates:

Starting 12/1/25: Priority Households – Elders, Disabled, and Families with children age 5 and under

Starting 2/1/26: All Other Households

Applications may be submitted online, by mail, or over the phone.

The Yurok Tribe is offering a one-time $300 food gift card to assist Yurok Tribe Households whose SNAP benefits were suspended due to the government shutdown.

Applications will be accepted from November 4-20, 2025
Limit: One $300 gift card per household

Staff will contact individuals to coordinate gift card pick up times and location.

Eligibility Requirements:

- Completed application filled out and submitted in person, by email, or through our website

- Applications can be found and/or submitted at any of our offices, by email, or on our website: https://www.yuroktribeclientservice.org/print-fill-out-applications under Emergency Food Gift Card Distribution

- Must have a Yurok Tribal Member in the household

- Must provide Passport to Services, Verification of Benefits, or other verification showing SNAP eligibility for November 2025

- Must NOT be receiving benefits from the Yurok Tribal TANF program
