March 19th at 7pm CT – Everybody's Fly: A Life of Art, Music, and Changing the Culture with Fab 5 Freddy and Theaster Gates –

Everybody’s Fly is a fast-moving, all-access pass to Fab’s extraordinary life—one that begins in a book- and jazz-filled Brooklyn home and takes us deep into New York’s creative explosions from the 1970s into the 1990s. He didn’t just shape culture, he synthesized it—from highbrow to street, the Bronx to the East Village, punk to rap, Warhol to Wild Style. Vibrant, rhapsodic, and compulsively readable, it is at once an intimate memoir and panoramic cultural history.

This event will take place at Evanston Township High School – 1600 Dodge Ave., Evanston, IL 60201. Enter through door 6. No registration required.

A unique blend of history and memoir, The First Eight is both a monument to the legacies of the first Black politicians to go to Congress from South Carolina, and also a clear-eyed appraisal of how far we've come, and how far we have left to go, in our nation's ongoing struggle for true democracy. Through the trials, tribulations, triumphs, and challenges that all nine men faced, Congressman Clyburn reveals a new way of understanding the period between the Civil War and the present.

This event will take place at Evanston Township High School – 1600 Dodge Ave., Evanston, IL 60201. Enter through door 6. No registration required.

How to Feel Loved presents a radical, hopeful, and science-backed shift in how to think about love, revealing that feeling loved isn’t about making ourselves more appealing, available, and lovable—it’s about showing our full and vulnerable selves to others and encouraging our loved ones to reveal their full and vulnerable selves to us. This is true for romantic love but also for the love we feel in friendship, family, and beyond.

February 26th at 7pm CT on Zoom – Picky: How American Children Became the Fussiest Eaters in History with Helen Zoe Veit, Ph.D. and John Waller, Ph.D. –

How did modern kids become such incredibly narrow eaters? The story is fascinating – and about much more than rising abundance. Picky shows how fussy eating came to define "children’s food" and reshape American diets at large. Maybe most importantly, it explains how we can still use the tools that parents used in the past to raise happy, healthy, wildly un-picky kids today.
