This week marks three years since the pandemic began it's spread here in the U.S. It was the first time in my career I purposefully began shrinking my practice. Out of necessity I prioritized my own mental health and that of my family. As the days get longer and the weather gets warmer, I feel that the time is right to expand and relaunch my psychology practice. These last few years have been challenging for us all. As one of only a few black women therapists in the area, I want to be available to help people on their journey of growth and discovery. I have a new, inviting office space and my practice is no longer paneled with any insurance company to better serve my clients’ needs. If you or someone you know is looking to tend to their mental health and ready to do the hard work of change in a non-judgemental and supportive environment, please contact me . Blount psychology is now accepting new patients for telehealth or in-person care in Evanston.
Melissa R Blount, PhD is an Evanston based therapist helping people with anxiety, trauma, stress, and life transitions. She uses a holistic approach addressing mind, body, and spirit.
