Have you met Natalie yet? Natalie joined us this summer and is leading a free caregiver-child class on Mondays at Synapse at 10am.

Our Story

Our Clinical Director, Katie Vienot, was introduced to the profession of speech pathology when her cousin, Will, was born with Down Syndrome. His speech therapist provided home visits and she became like family to Will and his parents. Will is now a young adult. He chats on the phone with friends and family, knows more jokes than Katie, has starred in several theater productions, and is a continual source of inspiration.

Since earning her Master’ Degree in 2012, Katie has worked with children with communication disorders. Seeing a need for smaller caseloads and flexibility in her own life, Katie founded Synapse Pediatric Therapy in 2016 with the desire to create the kind of practice she would choose for her own child. Recently, several like-minded Speech Pathologists have have joined the practice to better serve the North Shore and Chicago area.
