I’ve said this many times. A female psychiatrist told me this years ago. It’s important to think about especially when a woman has another child before the two years of recovery is up.

It takes a woman 2 whole years after birth to get back to feeling like themselves.
2 whole years for their hormones to return to normal.❤️❤️
2 whole years for their brain chemistry
to balance.❤️❤️
Most relationships end in this time because of lack of patience and understanding.❤️❤️
Be kind and patient with new moms.

A 7-year-old with ADHD has the executive functioning skills of a 4- or 5-year-old. A 13-year-old’s EF age is between 10 and 11. Your expectations for your child need to align with their EF age, and your strategies for scaffolding probably need to change accordingly.
