In a time that seems so long ago, I went to college with the goal of becoming a teacher. At some point, I would take a semester off that turned into 7 years off. Over time, I realized I needed to take better care of my own health and that I wanted to join a profession that I could happily retire from. 13 or so years ago, I received my first professional massage and was HOOKED. After talking to my therapist, I realized that I had to explore the world of massage therapy and it wasn’t long before I went to massage school. There I’d meet a driven young woman who started off as my study buddy but eventually became one of my best friends and business partner. Bobbie Flint and I had a vision upon graduation on how we wanted to make a difference in our local massage industry. After working for a few years in other offices and spas, we realized we had a completely different approach than many places who offered massage services in the area, and 11 years ago, Ahh Spa was born. Over the years, we remained full-time massage therapists who wanted to create the premier “thera-spa” in town, a place where clinical massage services and relaxing spa treatments combined to create personalized experiences. After many years of training and mentoring those who have worked for us and interns from other training institutes, we realized there was a need to take the next generation of massage therapists to an entirely different level.
The demand for massage has never been higher than it is today. The demand for skilled therapists is exponentially higher than when we first started. We are confident that after many years in business, we can create individuals who can make massage therapy a rewarding lifelong career. It is simply not enough to stop at being the largest massage clinic and spa in town, winning many awards over the past decade. We have a passion for sharing our knowledge and empowering those who want to make a difference in the lives of the people they meet. We know what it takes to be successful in this industry and we intend to train the next generation of massage professionals to not just survive, but to thrive in any environment. While Bobbie and I will be instructors at Ahh Spa Academy, we have also hired several other instructors who come with decades of combined experience to round out our team.
Our 700 hour, 11 month Professional Massage Program will arm you with the skills and knowledge you need to sit for the Indiana State board exam and quickly get on our way to a new career path. This program will challenge your mind, help you define your own personal and professional convictions, and encourage long term success and satisfaction. Massage isn’t just a job, it’s a way of life.
